The Role
I could make every day my own, to a certain extent I could do with my day as I thought was best which meant I could do what made my day fun for me.
Over my time in the placement I've met a lot of people who I can consider to now be good friends. The only problem would be that you don't always see your Orbitsound colleagues as you work in different stores but there is a lot of contact through messaging groups on whatsapp as well as things such as training and days out every month or so which helps that
Whenever I needed anything there was always multiple people I could count on to help me out, whether it was whithin work time or not. I've never felt out of my depth as I could get the advice I needed when I was having a bad day
It's really dependent on the type of day and your attitude. There are days in which there will be a lot of customers and there are days which there will be few but over time I learnt and was taught how to deal with each of these in an effective way.
As much as I deserved. When I was doing well and proving what I could do, I would be given more responsibilities. I saw the same with the people around me, the ones who really pushed to the best of their ability and showed what they could do for the company progressed and the ones who did the minimum stayed as they were
In doing this role I have really built my communication skills which will definitely help me after my degree. I have also learnt how to manage my time much better and most importantly motivate myself to succeed.
The Company
It was great, as it wasn't an office, it was my own workplace, I could make it as fun as I wanted to.
It seemed very simple, there wasn't really anything to it.
Upon starting, my manager would spend the day with me helping me understand how to tackle each part of my job role. There would be regular group training which I always found to be helpful. Each week there would be a conference call where tips would be shared to help everyone with their week. In addition to all this if I ever needed any help with anything I would just have to ask, if I needed training I could get it. I never at any time felt as though I didn't have the training I needed to do well.

As I've enjoyed the placement so much and the company has treated me so well it has made other roles in the business much more appealing. The managers are really hands on so moving into a role such as a regional manager is appealing as you get to do similar to what you do during to the placement but more with more responsibilities.
The Culture
As said before I've made some great friends when working for Orbitsound but as we don't all live in close cities, there are limited times to meet up. On the other hand I also made good friends in the stores I've worked in which I could socialise with.
I think it's very similar to the living cost in most cities.
As Manchester is a big city there is a big choice of great places to go on a night out.
This is probably the worst point, as said before you don't necessarily work in the same city as your Orbitsound colleagues which makes activities outside of work difficult. But on the other hand, if you do well you get the chance to attend some exciting events with the company such as a trip to London where we got to meet the founder of the company and had a great night out.
