I really much enjoyed the range of diverse tasks and exercise. It was possible to visit and to work with more than only one department. Furthermore, many colleagues from other departments gave me a briefly overview about their departments . At the end, I had a very good overview of the company.
I enjoyed having a different experience from education. The first few months were difficult due to a lack of organisation within my team but once i got more familiar with my job and my team i enjoyed being at the company and taking on lots of new challenges.
I couldn't have asked for a better internship. The work was varied, I learnt a lot right through to the end of my placement, and my team were wonderful. There is a big intern community and it just makes placement even better. The culture, the company and the work meant that I thoroughly enjoyed my placement.
I enjoyed working for an international company like Rolls Royce and I really liked the work environement. I learned a lot of new things about work life and also about my own strengths and weakness. I enjoyed coming to work and also the possibilities to see other departments and their work in order to see the big picture.
My PR placement taught me a lot about how to approach journalists, how to sell stories to media outlets, how to write press materials as well as organise extensive media events such as press trips and product launches. I have also enjoyed the production aspect of the workplace (being on a car factory)
I enjoyed my placement year. It gave me an opportunity to put myself out of my comfort zone and learn a variety of new skills. At times however, the workload was low and I found myself looking for jobs to do. This gave me an opportunity to engage in jobs that I was interested in.
Very much, it was a great opportunity to see how the business works in the various departments and to start learning the basics behind the career which i want to persue beyond University. So for me this placement year has been invaluable to get a start in my chosen topic. However there were a few down sides which stopped me from giving a 10.
My role in the department was highly engaging and intensive. I had the opporutnity to learn so much through theory and application. Alongside extremely helpful colleagues, I always felt that I had input. The placement helped build my confidence and gave me plenty of experience that I will look to carry over to my studies.
Working at the BMW Group has been a fantastic experince, not only do you pick up real industry knowledge and skills but also pick up some great freinds a long the way. One critique is the lack of structure at the start of the placement but once you're set up you get into the flow quickly.
I have enjoyed my internship very much. Throughout my internship I have been able to do work that both interests and challenges me, with my role giving me the freedom to find my own solutions to problems. This role has also helped me to decide what jobs I would like to do in future. I have also enjoyed working with those in my department, with those of us in our department being good friends.
Great working hours and weekends off. Coming over from a Retail background is definitely a major change for the positive of course. Working alongside the supply base and getting involved in numerous projects, plus having some of your own projects definitely teaches you time management and working closely to deadlines to achieve set targets and milestones.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at BMW. I was initially nervous to begin a placement, as it is so different from University. Although it was a complete change of daily routine, the positive environment and friendly people working here made me feel like part of the team immediately and made me look forward to coming to work.
Really enjoyed the working enviroment and the team I worked with were very supportive and friendly, however vague job descriptions is dissapointing as you get tasked with admin jobs that do not help you learn or progress, which is the reason I wanted to go on a placement in the first place. Overall, I have learned a lot working in such a large organisatio, but I feel there was a lot of lost potential for my developement due to the low value work being assigned.
I enjoyed gaining the hands on experience which will help prepare me for my final year at university and future graduate roles, but the BMW Group need to provide support/ help with living costs for students and apprentices at sites (such as Plant Oxford) that are situated in high-cost areas.
My internship has been a fifty fifty experience. On the one hand, i really do enjoy the people with whom i work with which makes the work environment a pleasant one. However, the BMW group being the size that it is means evrything is heavily process based and target driven, therefore the wellbeing of its employees can be sometimes neglected.
I really enjoyed my placement and learnt a lot about how big buisnesses work. There were some periods within the year that the work flow was very slow, however, I was able to use this time to improve on my CAD skills and read up on Engineerng topics. I imagine this extra knowledge will help me greatly in my final year.
I really enjoyed my placement as a whole. My department were really welcoming and there was a very positive atmosphere around the office. When it was busy, there was plenty of work to do. However, during quieter periods there wasn't much to do at all and I had to regularly ask for more work to do.
I have to say that my placement still will take until September, but so far, I am really enjoying it and I think, I made a good choice. As I am working in a car company, there is always a huge variety of tasks and I never get bored. Every day, I learn new and interesting things and also the working atmosphere is great, much more unstressed than in Germany, where I come from.
