Internal Communications Review

I loved my placement at Rolls-Royce, it exceeded all expectations. Throughout my 8 months there I developed poth professionally and personally and was able to learn new skills, make connections and expereince working for such a renowned and highly desired global brand.

My manager became like a friend to me, I felt so valued by her and I still have regular catch ups with her now. The whole Communications team at Rolls-Royce and the wider collegues within the business are all so friendly and helpful.

I was alway given help when I asked for it and always felt comfortable to ask questions. However, I learnt quickly after starting that it was important to use inicitive and try and get things done by myself, as managerment/supervisors don't have the time to also slowly take you through everything in detail.

I was always very busy and was more than happy to do extra hours, however sometimes I would find myself being too busy, but this was understandable during certain time periods within my role.

A lot! My manger gave me a lot of responsibilty which was great. I felt like I was getting the best possible experince of the real life working world. A lot of my other friends who have done internships with other companies said they would be doing boring and meaningless jobs like making teas and photocopying...it was certainly nothing like that at Rolls-Royce.

I learnt a lot of creative, technical and communication skills through my placement at Rolls-Royce. But most importantly at Rolls-Royce I developed a lot of personal skills that will help me a lot in the future, such as confidence and networking.

Most of the time it was a great atmosphere and I loved being there, lots of laughs and a great team. However, being based in the press office when there was a stressful working then this effected the atmosphere and there could be tension. But overal atmosphere was great!

Very well organised! The onboarding of my internship was very well organised and set up perfectly.

After my internship I was extended for 2 months by my manager to have a event assistant role, and this is just one of many examples of how my manger always did everything she could to help me get the most beneficial and rewarding expereince within the company. I couldn't be more appreciative!

I would love to go back to Rolls-Royce or any brand within the BMW Group! I hope that through making connections and working hard this will be a future potnetial.

Yes! At Rolls-Royce there was an amazing network of interns, and I feel that I have made some friends for life. We would do a lot of social things outside of work - nights out, beach, bowling, dinners. There was a great social scene and that was one of the many great things about the placement.

I lived at home, but I know from other interns that rent is reasonable. The cost of socialising/living is similar to most of the south of the UK, its cheaper than London but more expensive than up north.

Chichester isn't renowned for its nightlife, but the interns would be regular nights out to Vesty (the club) and it would always be fun. There's also a lot of other nice bars in Chichester and places like Brighton, Southampton, Portsmouth aren't too far so there was always the option to go out there!

There was a lot of oppurtunities for social activites outside of work and this was always great, it allowed me to build friendships on a better level.
