I completed a 12 month work placement at The Walt Disney Company ltd, and I would do it all over again if I could! I had a really enjoyable time, got to create new memories and experiences, attended plenty of networking events, volunteered in charity events, made valuable friends and acquaintanceships. I enjoyed my placement as I got to learn plenty of new things and found myself developing significantly over the period of my placement.
Absolutely loved it - the company is great to work for, very welcoming teams and great atmosphere amongst interns. Only negative was sometimes there wasn't enough work for me to do in the team.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at The Walt Disney Company as a Buyer's Assistant for the Disney Store. Both my professional and personal life were fantastic throughout my year, including making major developments in my personal achievements but also for the company. This in turn meant that the placement was completely rewarding, and I enjoyed every minute. Disney is known for it's culture, and it didn't disappoint with so many social events and in-office activities!
I worked for my dream company and had an incredible team to work with. I had the opportunity to work with the biggest brands in the industry for my year at Disney as well as having huge responsibilities that I did not expect to be given. I was really treated like part of the furniture and felt like I was a permanent employee at TWDC. I had the chance to use my creative skills, organisational skills and Excel skills as well as develop them and also build on my aptitude to work in which my line manager had a massive part to play in.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at The Walt Disney Company! The work culture within the office is brilliant and the network you are able to build throughout the year is incredible. There is a strong intern community and intern networking events which give you the opportunity to make friends and connections outside of your own team which I found really beneficial.
I really enjoyed my role as the Owned Media intern as it provided me with a full 360 degree experience of TWDC as I was able to work with so many different lines of businesses and franchises. I also was able to work with a numerous types of marketing platforms including TV, print, digital, social etc and was personally responsible for 7 Disney platforms. However, my managers were unsupported, condescending, patronizing and really did not encourage or support me throughout my time which really affected confidence at work.
I could not have got more enjoyment out of my placement year. The studios team, and more specifically, the home ents team made me feel particularly welcome from day one. I had a great amount of responsibility but was supported every step along the way. I was able to enjoy some of the benefits that the company had to offer and very much enjoyed the overall experience of living and working in London. I also could not have asked to work with a better group of interns. The intern community was great and it was easy to make friends with interns and colleagues alike.
I thoroughly enjoyed the placement. We had a lot of work to do in teams and individually and I got to know the company and industry very well. I would say that there could have been more work that was in direct contact with clients and more design work overall but it was still very good quality as the whole team were easy to work with, very creative and highly talented in their area of work so I learnt a lot from them
My placement year at the Walt Disney Co was Extremely rewarding, Pleasant and nothing short of a dream come true. I had the opportunity to work in multiple teams and under multiple managers all of whom were great mentors and leaders to look up to. I feel very lucky to have had this opportunity to work at the world’s most loved company and Would recommend everyone to apply for a placement at the Walt Disney company.
My placement year was one of the best experiences of my life. From all the events and activities my company offered to me, to the extremely friendly atmosphere of the office; everyday would bring me something enjoyable. Although there days and situations when deadlines affected my mindset negatively, my team and other co-workers were always there to support me, highlighting to me the importance of effective teamwork within the brand. My respect for Disney has only increased and I can't promote how great the placement experience was with them!
My placement at Disney far exceeded all of my expectations, both in terms of value and enjoyment. The office culture is extremely friendly, open and approachable, and even though the latter part of my placement was completed virtually, the job still continued to be enjoyable. A placement at Disney allowed me to work with brands I had grown up with, and provided perks such as seeing exclusive content pre-release and attending free movie screenings, both in the office and at local London cinemas.
I absolutely adored my internship at The Walt Disney Company. It was an extremely fulfilling experience and I was given real responsibility from the first day. Every member of staff was so friendly and welcoming, the employee culture is great! I was able to manage my own projects and take real responsibility and leadership which was great. I was fortunate enough to work on some huge events which will stay with me for the rest of my life and have definitely enhanced my CV!
I absolutely loved my time as an intern at TWDC, what's not to love? We were given the opportunity to be the first to watch any newly released films in the office theatre ! Disney also held numerous events on every occasion Christmas, halloween etc, there was always something exciting happening in the office ! The whole experience is truly magical. I have learnt so much during my time here at Disney and built such a wide network of wonderful people !
Thoroughly enjoyed my 16 months at The Walt Disney Company. A lovely, supportive culture, Disney is definitely a company that is keen to invest in you as a person- make the most of all the opportunities that are available to you; your year is exactly what you make it! The placement year at Disney is definitely not your typical intern job, you will get fully thrown in to a real role with rich responsibility which in turn gives you the confidence to go above and beyond within your role.
Average - lots of placements which is great but given very very basic tasks which definitely could be worked on. Comparing now to what placements get at other companies I’ve worked out makes me realise how little I achieved. Great company other than that - great offices and lots to get involved in outside of day job
Working at the company was very enjoyable. There is always alot going on in the building and different things you can get involved in. You are also a valued memeber of your team so are given a lot of responsibility when it comes to work, which is good. There are lots of other interns in the building so it is sociable.
