I enjoyed the company as a whole but feel the job (accounting) was not suited to my skills and didn't keep my interest for the entire year. Although a good experience, I feel it would have been a better idea if the placement only lasted a few months - maybe with a rotation scheme so you could spend a few months in finance and a few in accounting.
truly give you an allround experience of what it is truly like to work in the industry, you get to take part in the whole process and really experience having responsibility for your own tasks and projects. there are plenty of lovely and very helpful colleagues to guide you through everything.
I absolutely loved my placement at Disney. I had big amounts of responsibility which was challenging but exciting. I knew that my job wasn't going to be exactly the same everyday, which made it all the more exciting to come into the office every day. My fellow colleagues are so helpful and were so accommodating in my first few months when I was getting used to the tasks I had to undertake.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at The Walt Disney Company. I was given a high level of responsibility and my team were amazing. I had the opportunity to learn new skills and also practice skills I had obtained from University whilst working on personal development. I would recommend this placement to anyone wanting to gain experience in Merchandising.
I have enjoyed this year very much as each day has been different and there has been challenges which have allowed me to develop new skills and strengthen my existing skills I had prior to the placement. I have a better understanding of what a work environment will be like after I graduate from University.
A brilliant company to work for and I would recommend them to anyone. There are always events inside work and outside work that you can take part in such as volunteering, screenings etc. An example of one that happened when I was at the company, was [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] 90th birthday celebrations which was over the course of a week in the office.
The internship I took part in over the last 12 months really surprised me - you hear “internships” are cliché for running around making cups of tea/coffee, printing etc. The opportunities I had excelled expectations and made me grow so much as a person professionally and personally. Will value this experience as I go through my career.
My year at Disney was an incredible experience, though not without its challenges. Working for one of the biggest companies in the world is always going to be stressful, but the experiences I got out of it and the friends I made far outweigh the stress and difficulties. I would recommend it to anyone.
Incredible work atmosphere and environment working at The Walt Disney Company. Interns are given a great deal of responsibility and within the 12 months of their tenure have a vast amount of exposure to how their department runs and their contribution to the Disney brand. I had an absolutely incredible year there.
I loved my Creative and Product Development Internship at The Walt Disney Company! The work was varied and allowed you to input into multiple parts of the development process. You also had the opportunity to work on project both individually and in a team. The team ensured that the work environment was always enjoyable.
This was the best and worst year of my life I think. I really struggled with mental health due to the intense stress of the job combined with personal matters I had. Although the job was the most stress I have ever experienced, I believe that was just how it is working in PR and the opportunities I was given and what I experienced was unlike any other. I've never been so grateful for the opportunity. I loved the people and I loved putting everything into what I did. I wouldn't have changed it.
I really enjoyed my placement year. I immediately felt part of the team and was never let for too long without work to do. The fact that there were a lot of interns working around me helped me get settled in quickly. The team I was working in was great for the most part and the people I was in direct contact with were happy to always help
I really enjoyed my placement and it exceeded all expectations that I had. I was lucky enough to get involved in a variety of campaigns, ranging from Mickey Mouse to Star Wars and Marvel. In addition to this, there are lots of different interns at the company which meant that I made lots of new friends.
The company was amazing to work for, they treat employees very well and from time to time there were little Disney surprises such as character visits. The workload was quite demanding and there were some times when I found it a bit overwhelming however I have had a chance to get involved in many different tasks which has been a valuable learning experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed working at The Walt Disney Company, it provides students with the valuable skills that they can transfer into both their studies and their career in the future. During the placement there are plenty of opportunities that were available to me because I was able to shadow other departments & get to involve myself in the volunteering scheme.
