This year was a year of growth and development where I had the opportunity to experience different aspects of the business and get a real sense of what I enjoyed and what I didn't enjoy. The most important learning was discovering what I really wanted to do as a career in this industry which I never quite knew for sure before.
I really enjoyed my placement at The Walt Disney Company, the atmosphere in the office is great and in my role I was able to watch all the latest film releases in the Disney cinema. Besides the fun, you really get serious responsibility in your role and I have felt like an integral member of my team throughout.
I've had a really valuable and enjoyable year - its been relevant and helpful for my course, with the right amount of work and responsibility, and with a great team. The department has been lovely, and I've definitely grown as a person and as a designer over the last year.
This placement is everything that I was looking for in this stage of my education. I am unsure of which business sector I would like to pursue a career in and this placement has allowed me to gain a greater insight into a variety of areas of business from Sales to Finance to Legal and more! The work varies from week to week with ad-hoc tasks as well as different on-going projects to work on so everyday is different and challenging in new ways.
The Walt Disney Company has been a great company to complete a placement year with and I have thouroughly enjoyed my time here. I have been given responsibility and feel like I have learnt a lot over the year. I would recommend Disney to anyone looking for a placement year,
I have definitely enjoyed my placement here at Disney. I've developed technical and soft skills throughout the year and I've gained experience of working for a blue chip company. Work can sometimes be challenging, but most of my work has been interesting. I have also been able to meet lots of genuinely nice people within my team and across the business.
I thoroughly enjoyed working at The Walt Disney Studios as the level of responsibility was just right, or at least adjusted to allow me to apply my skills and knowledge without becoming too stressed or burnt out. The opportunities were amazing from employee screenings, to helping out on junkets, taking part in workshops - there are many additions to the job that make it enjoyable. Also summer hours where you finish at 3pm on Fridays are a massive bonus.
I absolutely loved the entirety of my placement year. The amount of responsibility I was provided with extended my initial expectations and the variety of tasks I was given made the overall experience invaluable. When opportunities for additional or spontaneous tasks came up I was always enabled to get as much experience as possible and broaden my skillset through new tasks.
I really loved my placement with Disney. I feel that throughout the year I learnt a lot about the company, their values, and the opportunities that they offer. I had the chance to attend movie screenings, script read-throughs, as well as attend all kinds of meetings with teams throughout the company. My experience has been incredibly valuable, and I now feel really prepared for a career after university.
I have really enjoyed my time at Disney, there are always exciting things going on! The department I work in has 11 interns which means there is a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere. My team are really nice and supportive as well which also makes the work fun and interesting.
I have greatly enjoyed working during my year placement at The Walt Disney Company. The highlights from my placement have been the opportunity to be exposed to the media industry to the extent by working with large media agencies on a daily basis. As well as being able to learn new skills with data platforms such as SAP and DCM.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement at The Walt Disney Company because it has helped me to extend my skill set and has taught me so much about the industry. I am given far more responsibility than I originally expected, which is really rewarding, and I am always working on new tasks so no day is the same.
I enjoyed my time here as it was a varied job and for a very large, exciting company, and you learn different things all the time. The work I did was also important and had an impact on the team. There was a great team environment and lots of opportunities for social events.
The role didn't really suit me. The tasks were boring and I wasn't invloved by the team, so I felt isolated and unappreciated as I spent 95% of the time just doing invoices and emails with little face to face communication. It felt very much like a work experince/internship that lasted a year as I never felt included and was just doing simple tasks in the background.
This internship provided a great opportunity to get involved in a variety of 'real work', which included legal research and tasks, but also general business exposure. This mix was both extremely interesting and also useful for both deciding, and helping to get a head start on, a future career path.
