    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Overall I really enjoyed my internship with Page, especially early on when I was learning so many new things.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were great and really made me feel like part of the team. We also went out for drinks together a few times.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was constantly surprised at how much time my manager had for me; we had weekly meetings to assess my progress and an appraisal at the end of the internship. Everyone in the team was also always willing to answer my questions and give me detailed feedback.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Extremely busy most of the time; the recruitment role is fast paced and you really get a taste for this in the internship. At times my role was a little repetitive which made it feel slow, but this did not happen often.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I am so grateful for the amount of responsibility I was given, especially because I know so many people who are only given menial tasks when interning. After being briefed on roles, I was responsible for sourcing my own candidates and booking them in for interview. I then conducted the interviews without supervision (by the end of the placement), and from then on it was important for me to keep a good relationship with those candidates.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I've learnt so many useful things during the internship! Firstly, I've gained confidence through conducting so many interviews and know I will feel really comfortable meeting new people or talking on the phone in future workplaces. I've also learnt a huge amount about what it is I am looking for in my career.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was really fast-paced and had a constant buzz. There's a very young demographic at Page, everyone works as a team and has a lot of fun.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Incredibly well organised. We had 2 days of training at the beginning and regular meetings with both our manager and the person in charge of the Intern Programme. At the end of the 8 weeks there was also an appraisal and then a Graduation Day to finish. We were also given a workbook to help structure our work.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We had formal training at the beginning of the internship and then I was constantly learning more about the job throughout, especially in the first few weeks. Even after she found out I was unlikely to apply for a long-term role at Page Group, my manager continued to spend a lot of time training me and even giving me advice for my career in general.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 1/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • On a personal level I think that recruitment is not for me, however as a firm Page Group would be a great company to work for.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, we went for a drinks a few times. There was also a big group of interns which was great.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Incredibly expensive - London prices.

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Lots of cool bars, there's so much to do in London.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, frequent drinks after work.
