    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the internship at PageGroup. My colleagues and the office environment were extremely friendly and welcoming: great culture. In my team, the work was fast paced and I completed interesting tasks,

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt hugely valued by all my colleagues. For each an every task I completed, the person who had requested my help thanked me and gave me instructive feedback on what I could have improved. I also enjoyed socialising with my team after work.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support available on the internship was fantastic: we were given training at the start with every opportunity to ask questions, I had a meeting/catch up with the internship coordinator every two weeks, I could ask a question at any time due to the supportive atmosphere my manager and team created and I had weekly one-to-one meetings with my manager to discuss any concerns I had and the previous week and week ahead.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Generally, I was always busy. However, occasionally there were periods when I had little to do, so I found other things to do such as the internship workbook; it's important to be proactive.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility. I was able to speak to candidates, book them in for an interview and interview them. I wrote advertisements which would be sent to clients and go on the job boards. However, due to the short period of time I was there, interns can only have limited interaction with clients. Although, I did speak to some warm clients in the final weeks.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I received extremely useful and transferrable Sales training before starting the internship which prepared me for the 8 weeks ahead. The skills I obtained however will be useful for my future career. Furthermore, working in an office and interacting with colleagues developed my social skills and confidence. Although, there was limited applicability to my degree.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • In an office with hard working professionals each with a great sense of humour, the office environment was friendly and engaging. In addition the atmosphere was hugely supportive; I felt respected by my colleagues and that I could approach anyone to ask for help.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was very well organised; two days of training, biweekly meetings with the coordinator and an end of internship graduations/presentation session. I had weekly one-to-one meetings with my manager which was a great structure to my internship, however this was specific to my discipline.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Appealing. Career progression is evidently fantastic at PageGroup. If you work hard; you'll earn hard. It does however take a while to get going.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a reasonable social scene amongst interns, but it was largely self organised. Social scene amongst my team was good; regularly lunches and socialising after work.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Working in London (and living in Kent), commuting cost was high; but the price of renting in London was the same. Socialising was expensive but it is to be expected in the capital.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Many bars and places to catch a drink. Good transport connections so many additional areas to socialise with colleagues and catch up with local friends.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Limited opportunities to get involved due to the short time I was there.

    2/5
