The Role
I had no prevous experience in recruitment, but this is an internship where you really get to 'dive in' and experience the industry. My team were supportive, hardworking and fun, and this really impacted on my experience. The days went fast, the pay is good, and the soical aspect was great.
I felt like my contribution was really appreciated by the team - My duties had value and I felt like I was treated similarly to the grads that strated.
I was given a 'buddy' so really got involved in all her work. I also had a lot of support from my manager, who would have regular catch ups with me to check I was happy.
It's a really busy atmosphere so I always had something to do - my manager and 'buddy' would also help plan my day so I had a variety of tasks to be doing.
I had candidate and client exposure, so this meant I was being trusted to help with the recruitment process and ultimately reach targets
The expereience at Michael Page has progressed my communication skills beyond what I expected - I also improved my commerical awareness. It was a great office environment to start my career.
The Company
There's a big emphasis on 'fun' and socialising at Michael Page, and this was reflected in the office - Banter!
Really well organised - I had 2 days training before I started, a basic week by week plan to follow, and the internship was finished with a final 'graduation' day in London.
I was given 2 days training in London to give me an insight before I started in the office. Throughout the 2 months I had a lot of online training and my manager invested a lot of time in me, even though he was really busy with his own work.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Michael Page have a really good grad scheme, and I have been given an offer to stay on!
The Culture
Lots of work nights out! Really helped me feel part of the company, and I socialised with the other interns too.
Pretty cheap compared to London - I always tried to take in my own lunch though to keep costs down.
A massive choice of bars, clubs and restaurants!
The main activity was after work drinks!
