    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The structure of the placement was well thought out and I learnt plenty about the company and the values it has as well as what goes into bringing a product to market. It was very beneficial to my degree and im going into final year a lot more confident.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • They always took time to listen to my comments and encouraged my responses. I felt like a valued team member at all times and they often took my feedback on and altered the project accordingly.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I always felt there were multiple team members to talk to and provide support throughout the placement. We were also given targets and aims - asked what we wanted to achieve out of the placement. They would alter our job role or give us tasks specific to this aim. We also had a self assessment at the start and end of placement to see how we had done.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Due to the nature of the role, some periods of the year were busier then others so it was not always consistent - some days we would be incredibly busy and others would have little to do. But we could always tell our manager and they would give us other tasks to do where possible.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • We were able to take on whole projects or important presentation, it was an experience you can make the most of, you only have to ask. Your ideas are always taken into consideration.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I gained considerable confidence in presenting and meeting new people. The knowledge gained will greatly benefit my design degree as it shows me the scope beyond ideation. I also learnt to discipline myself with work and manage my time a lot better. The longer work week has improved my work efficency.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The team was very friendly and welcoming to all the interns. It was always a great atmosphere in the office and they balanced fun with getting on with work well.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • They planned the internship well. The first month overlaps with the previous interns last month so they can show you the ropes and teach you all they know which really helped the initial nerves.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
