I really enojoyed the year for several reasons not just including the work I was doing and my main responsibilities. I feel I enjoyed becoming part of the team and adopting the over all company ethos that we have at Danone. I also liked how my responsibilities increased throughout the year.
It was a highly enjoyable insight, in which the office itself was in an amazing location which made it enjoyable. All the employees are friendly and welcoming and are keen to make everyone feel welcome. The activities planned for us were enjoyable and enthralling which made the insight unique and highly enjoyable
I really enjoyed the three day insight at Danone HQ. We learnt a lot about the company, culture, job roles, spoke to current placement and grad employers and really felt apart of the business, even in such a short period of time. I felt apart of the team from our first insight talk and beyond!
Getting the 3 full days to really get to know the office, employees and placements students gave a good insight into Danone's culture and what it might feel like to work here! Getting to do the insights profile was 100% the highlight. I do feel that the 3 day insight was perhaps a bit too long for purely a campus brand ambassador role, or, that our time wasn't necessarily used as effectively as it could have been. We got to meet placement students, but didn't learn much about the CBU's or get to meet people actually within the team and hear about new projects they were doing. Also, I heard they used to do a practice assessment centre and we didn't get that opportunity. Overall, I really enjoyed it. I do think there are some improvements to be made: perhaps meeting more of people within the role rather than just placement students and have more ideas on plans and working with the marketing team (who actually needs to approve of our ideas)
The Insight Programme was well organised, informative and employees were incredibly welcoming from day one. This was a great opportunity to learn about the Danone brands and company culture. The Insight team was friendly, approachable and responsive with all questions and inquiries about the company, future opportunities and application tips/hints.
I think that the insight day was very helpful, not only did it help in terms of character profile building, but it helped us all understand more about Danone and the experiences it has to offer. It also allowed us all to step outside of our comfort zones by speaking to new people and working in teams that we may not usually work in.
It was a great way to meet people that were interested in becoming part of an FMCG company. I particularly enjoyed the atmosphere Danone creates, with it's young environment and open plan office spaces. I believe it is somewhere I could definitely see myself working in the future. Getting to see people roughly the same age as me given such responsibility in such a well reknowned company shows me that Danone really values young talent. I talked with someone that is on placement and has been for only 3 months and was already given the trust to organise London Fashion Week.
The Danone insights placement was informative, useful and well structured. It was very enjoyable meeting fellow brand ambassadors as well as staff from the company who were working there either on placement or on graduate schemes. I got the most enjoyment out of the insights section within which I found out more about my work styles and preferences.
As most companies, Danone advertise on their website that they will give a lot of responsibilities early on to the students that join them either for a placement or a graduate scheme. However, you never really know if this is something employers say to attract students or if this will actually be the case. Thus, it is only when I joined that I realized that, at Danone, you are actually given a huge level of responsibility. Indeed, you get to have a role which is important for the company and, as a result, people do not consider you as a younger person without experience but as one of their peers. This gives you a huge opportunity to learn a lot, develop some leadership skills to make your voice be heard and become a very proactive person. Whilst your colleagues will consider you as an expert in your own sector, they will be extremely helpful all along your year as they are aware it is your first real experience. So don't be stressed, having a lot of responsibilities does not mean you will have to face them alone and struggle, Danoners will always be here to help you! Another thing that I have loved about Danone is the fact that you really have an opportunity to step outside your role and get involved in other things such as volunteering, sports... This is a great opportunity to meet other people from the business and to have a lot of fun! Lastly, if you are somebody who really believes in the mission of businesses to have a positive social and environmental impact: this is a company for you! Danone is true to its mission and I have actually been very surprised to see that all Danoners believe in this mission and are really working to be healthy for their consumers and better for the planet. The only small negative aspect I could talk about is that, for the placements students, you have no training available (however, people joining the graduate scheme will have plenty of training). Considering that in the end we were doing the same job, I think it would have been a bit more fair to get some training all together!
I enjoyed the insight a lot. Danone is a very welcoming, friendly company that emphasized its youthful and creative culture on numerous occasions during the insights event. It was extremely cool to work in such a laidback environment, although it was clear that all the employees there worked extremely hard.
The placement was very enjoyable and I was given a lot of job responsibility from the first day. I loved planning events on campus for Danone and working with such an excellent team. I also felt that this position was an excellent use of my time, and contributed a lot to my CV.
The Insight week at Danone allowed me to gain a bigger understand of not only how Danone works but also how the market it operates in works (FMCG). We had a lot of presentations and interactive sessions with members of the company. Furthermore, the experience also allowed me to increase my network as I met people with similar interest to me.
My job with Danone (as a University Campus Brand Manager) is currently ongoing, and ends at the end of the academic year in June 2018. I am currently thoroughly enjoying my job with Danone - they are very efficient, helpful and friendly, and have given me interesting tasks to carry out, as well as allowing me a good deal of independence in putting in my own ideas for events such as the upcoming 'Detox' event in January.
