    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My job with Danone (as a University Campus Brand Manager) is currently ongoing, and ends at the end of the academic year in June 2018. I am currently thoroughly enjoying my job with Danone - they are very efficient, helpful and friendly, and have given me interesting tasks to carry out, as well as allowing me a good deal of independence in putting in my own ideas for events such as the upcoming 'Detox' event in January.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Although I am aware that my job is only a minor role in Danone, being a University student I thought I would be valued a lot less by my colleagues. On the contrary, I feel as if my work is being appreciated by my colleagues and those at Danone who I have worked with so far, and I am really happy about it!

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My management has been extremely helpful in giving me support and guidance so far - they are quick to respond to my emails/messages and have given me a great deal of information on every task/event they wanted me to help with.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As my role is as a Campus Brand Manager, it is not a job which requires lots of work on an everyday basis - the talks and events which I am helping out with are almost monthly, however I have been completing research etc. inbetween these events too.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I have been given a lot more responsibility than I initially thought I would when applying for this role, which I am extremely happy about. My managers have largely trusted me with when/where to complete my tasks such as my water drop, and are allowing me a great deal of responsibility in organising the big Detox event in January

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have developed thus far will help me in my degree studies and beyond because I have already improved my communication and organisational skills through my role - which can help me in every aspect of life, be it work or leisure. I am enjoying developing my digital marketing and advertising skills through posting on social media platforms about upcoming events Danone are holding, and this is something I hope to further improve throughout the course of the year too.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • I have not been working in an office as my job is mainly university-based. However, I have worked with my managers at my campus at various events and the atmosphere has been both relaxed and friendly (But also hardworking). I have felt at ease with those around me and have enjoyed the upbeat and enthusiastic work environment so far.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The job set up has been very organised as of yet, with an Insights Event running over a few days in order to inform CBMs of their role and equip them with some of the right skills too. During the role so far it has been well set up in terms of an efficient email system, allowing me to easily contact my managers if I have needed help or information.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Danone invested to a good extent in the CBMs by running an Insights Event, which took place over a couple of days and aimed to inform CBMs of their role and prepare them well for it. They have also invested time in me by always having time to answer my questions or concerns, and making an effort to inform me of every new development in my role.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Extremely appealing - from my role so far and the ethos that the organisation has in general, I am extremely inspired and have already applied for their graduate scheme for when I finish my degree. Danone seem to really care about their employees and this is something that I strive to find in my future workplace.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • (I have not met any other CBMs in my role as I am the only one in my University campus)

    3/5
