The Role
I enjoyed my internship thoroughly.
I felt highly valued by my colleagues and my co-workers.
I was given plenty of support by my line manager and department members who were always eager to help out with any questions I had.
I never had a dull moment and always had a task to be getting on with.
I was given important tasks that had a definitive value to the company.
Most of my tasks involved learning new skills, and my colleagues were happy to assist.
The Company
Friendly office atmosphere, everybody was happy to have a chat, very relaxed. Mix of ages and nationalities provided an interesting conversation. Any colleague was happy to help out with any query I had.
The internship was very well organised by the graduate team. We were given a timetable of the entire 8 weeks during the induction and it was followed precisely. Every query we had was answered quickly and concisely by the graduate team.
Through the internship, LR gave all the interns a huge amount of experience. They did not put us through any training schemes as such, but in terms of personal development the experience was hugely beneficial.

Graduate scheme is very appealing, due to the caring nature of the company and the development they offered. Working abroad is also very attractive and attractive salary. I would rate my chances of reapplying as very high.
The Culture
Yes, the interns all got on along very well with each other and socialised frequently. The current graduates and other members of the office were very good fun. There was plenty of opportunity for networking and socialising.
Southampton was a fairly cheap place to live compared to other parts of England. Plenty of supermarkets dotted around the area and there was no noticeable difference in price from any other. Rent was fairly cheap where we stayed but this could obviously vary.
The nightlife was good in Southampton. It is a very student friendly city and there were plenty of cheap, fun places to go. The locals were friendly and there was always something to do. There was something catering to every kind of night out, from nightclubs to kareoke bars.
There was football on Monday nights which was good fun. It was very open to players of all abilities. I believe there was also a sailing club and opportunities to play cricket, although I didn't personally take part in these activities.
