  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • It was really enjoyable, had a really good time and learnt so much about the marine industry and more.

    • I felt welcomed from the start, everyone was friendly and happy to help me.

    • Supervisor was always happy to help me, he even checked through my reports to make sure I was doing the right thing.

    • I always had work to do, but I never felt as if I had been given too much work.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • I had to create two reports that would impact the progress of the project I was working on and potentially the way the organisation operates in the future.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I had to write reports and carry out a lot of research, the time spent on the reports will definitely help me in my degree and beyond.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Really good working atmosphere, everyone was doing their job or assisting others. Everyone was always happy to come over and help me out if I was stuck with something.

    • Very well organised.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • They let me try out different software tools that were not directly part of my placement, which really helped me understand more engineering techniques.
