    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • JCB offer a wide range of placement opportunities within the scheme they run, so finding a job to which you fit is highly likely making the work very enjoyable.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Being asked my senior managers to take part in meetings and offer your opinion most certainly made me feel part of the team.

  • Very supportive management team within JCB

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Occasionally found myself with little to do, but conversely found myself rushed off my feet with things to do.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Depending on the project, being self aware and working without guidance was sometimes expected if tasks were under pressure to be completed.... This doesn't mean to say help wasn't there when asked for it.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Best decision I've ever made going to JCB for an industrial Placement.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very friendly atmosphere which held a perfect balance between jokes and seriousness.

  • A tad shaky at the beginning as things always are, but improved very quickly.

  • JCB always looks to push you to the best of your ability and further on your placement.

  • All that's left is for me to get the grades at University.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • For me personally, the students I worked with were always up for a good time.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The Midlands is so much cheaper than the South..... just a shame it's in the Midlands.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The town of Uttoxeter offers a Wetherspoons...... Birmingham/ Stafford/ Derby isn't too far away though.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • JCB promote several activities outside of work - personally only took part in the gym and the pub
