The Role
JCB offer a wide range of placement opportunities within the scheme they run, so finding a job to which you fit is highly likely making the work very enjoyable.
Being asked my senior managers to take part in meetings and offer your opinion most certainly made me feel part of the team.
Very supportive management team within JCB
Occasionally found myself with little to do, but conversely found myself rushed off my feet with things to do.
Depending on the project, being self aware and working without guidance was sometimes expected if tasks were under pressure to be completed.... This doesn't mean to say help wasn't there when asked for it.
Best decision I've ever made going to JCB for an industrial Placement.
The Company
Very friendly atmosphere which held a perfect balance between jokes and seriousness.
A tad shaky at the beginning as things always are, but improved very quickly.
JCB always looks to push you to the best of your ability and further on your placement.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
All that's left is for me to get the grades at University.
The Culture
For me personally, the students I worked with were always up for a good time.
The Midlands is so much cheaper than the South..... just a shame it's in the Midlands.
The town of Uttoxeter offers a Wetherspoons...... Birmingham/ Stafford/ Derby isn't too far away though.
JCB promote several activities outside of work - personally only took part in the gym and the pub
