The Role
Endless challenges and opportunities for learning! The placement was split into 3 mini placements acorss 3 different divisions/departments meaning you could explore different areas of teh engineering industry.
All colleagues were extremely helpful- mentors were provided with each placement and the entire team are friendly and easy to approach if you have any issues. You will be treated as a 'proper engineer' and not ignored or forgotten because you are a placement student. But your academic limitations and lack of experience is also understood
Support was always provided. The training/HR team conduct regular reviews to ensure you have settled well into each placement
Varies depending on project work, business unit and department. Voluntary STEM opportunities are also readily avaiable to keep yo busy.
Responsibility was given from the start! Support was always available if needed.
Completed and receieved my EngTech IMechE accreditation. Completed several training courses during my induction and throughout the placement. Support was also provided for organising university projects (dissertation/final year project)

Extremely well organised scheme- training/HR did a very good job or arranging placements in areas of interest and adjusted if the need arose. Placement reviews were conducted at the end of each placement to enable opportunties to receive feedback. STEM work was also very well arranged as well as IMechE related work and innovation projects.
