  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Keystone Group provides both technical and personal skills that I had developed through the placement year. For examples, improved skills in using AuoCAD design tool, using ProSteel analysis software and improved in communication skills with the customers and colleagues. I had carried out multiples of projects in the construction industry which I learned lot of constructions techniques and I learned to design a custom-made steel lintels with using AutoCAD.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • All the colleagues are supportive, expert and helpful. They are always will find time to help out and give advice to overcome the problems and issues that I had encountered. therefore, I found the all the colleagues around me are welcoming and I am happy to work with them all.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My placement supervisor always be willing to help out on every problems I encountered, when to design and analysis custom-made steel lintels, resolve customers complains and showed how all the departments are working together.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • In the workplace environment are fast driven and with new projects received from the customers to carry out every day. Therefore, I always assigned with new projects which is provide the opportunity to learn new skills and knowledge about the construction industry.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I am always assigned with new projects that I assessed with high quality and accuracy to provide a competitive quote, load assessment on lintels using the British Standard: BS5977, design custom-made steel lintels, design steel wind-posts, and answering customer queries via emails and phone calls.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I had learnt and developed lot of skills in both technical and personal , and also gained knowledge and experience in the construction industry. These are vital for final year at university that will help on my course study and future career.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The workplace office was comfortable, welcoming and all the colleagues are very helpful and nice. As a results, it was positive, fast driven and productive environment.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement structure was well organised and clear structure of the roles and responsibility of the work and objective. I had carried out lots of training which were helpful to understand of how to work and assess the assign project.

  • I had received multiples of training and been participated meetings which were vital to fully aware of key projects carried out and design new products.

  • There are weekly football match with the colleagues at Sport Center and events arrange by the colleagues such as Go Karting, Painball game and Nightout.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • South Derbyshire is quite area and living cost is fairly cheap.

  • The area have some good place to go for nightlife but there aren't fun and great place to be adventure and socialising.
