    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my work placement, to the point where i was excited to come to work in the mornings. I have learnt a great deal and built friendships with some great people. I will truely be sad to leave within the next few months.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • In the marketing office, everyone worked together as a team to help eachother out when needed. I felt i was constantly appreciated in the little things i done. I felt i was valued also as i was constantly supported in the daily tasks i completed.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • During my first few weeks in Keystone i had a mentor which i shadowed. I then had an employee who graduated but worked as a marketing placement, who constantly supported me through my role. My line manager gave me guidance also when i needed it and ensured i was never off track.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Day to day there are many daily tasks that have to be done. After completing the likes of readerlink requests and database work, other various requests from the different brands would constantly be ongoing. Keeping up to date with information within the Keystone Group for the Keynews internal newletter was important as this was one of my main roles throughout my placement.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I felt i was given a great deal of responsibility throughout my 13 months. Having the responsibility of Keynews which was our internal newsletter that was distrubted throughout the Keystone group, allowed me to have the responsibility of ensuring relevant information was noted. Also being in charge of purchase orders within Marketing was also important as it was a lot of responsibility that was continously used daily.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel that the skills i have deveoped in my time in Keystone has helped hugly to build my character and become more confident in a professional enviroment. My skills within the marketing sector have increased dramtically compared to the start of my placement, which will hugly impact my future career allowing me to be more experienced and confident within my future studies.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • In the marketing office there was a great atmosphere every day,as everyone got on. Even in the most stressful of times everyone was fit to get on and deal with it professionally. I felt the atmosphere was mostly relaxed and enjoyable within my time in Keystone.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I felt that the placement year was well set up as i was well supported by my line manager, however i felt that the lack of space i had for my marketing store in which i had to store thousands of merchandise was badly orangised and unsafe.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Late on in my placement i listened to a presentation from Inspire Wellbeing which i found benefical. This presentation involoved mental health throughout Northern Ireland and the different steps we can take to try and reduce the risks within the work place.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was several opportunities for placement students and employees to have a good social scene, weatehr it was company nights out or events organised by the sports and social club. Another example of this would have to be the pizza day we had at the start of my placement were i first got to meet other placement students and introduce myself.
