The Role
Really enjoyed the variety of the work, I wasn't just given one 'summer student' job to get on with.
I felt like I had just started a proper job there - I had real work to do and felt I could help people.
I had a mentor/buddy within the department who I chatted with every day and I had progress meetings with my supervisor every month or so. It was easy to talk to people.
Considering I was only there for 10 weeks I was given a high level of responsibility. I even got to present one of my projects to the management for them to decide if it was ready to progress to the next stage.
Invaluable
The Company
Projects was a good department to work in, they made me feel welcome and had good banter!
It wasn't so much a placement scheme in that I was the only student in the department. They had set up a varied workload for me and were prepared, but in ter
They will put you through your offshore training which is a huge benefit for when you graduate. I got to travel to Denmark to inspect the progress a contractor was making, and they made sure I was involved in a lot of other work so I could learn more.

Well I've been offered a job so that is pretty good! It is basically a summer long interview and if they like you, you are in without anymore interviews. It is a massive company as well.
The Culture
There was only two students in the whole Aberdeen office, but lots of young graduates.
Pay was well, but Aberdeen is quite expensive.
Aberdeen is alright, it isn't a big city though so be prepared if you are moving from London.
Probably more if there were more students - I know this is something they are trying for another year.
