The Role
I had an incredible time and gained a true insight into life on a refinery.
The department were always willing to help when necessary and made me feel integrated into the team from day one.
I spent a lot of time with senior managers and was able to ask them in-depth questions and discover their experiences within the company.
The project took the whole two weeks to complete and was challenging.
The project was left to my colleague and I to complete, so we had full responsiblity from the start.
I have to do a design project in my final year and the techincal knowledge I gained during my time at Fawley will prove to be invaluable this year.
The Company
I was close to other summer vacation students at al times
Very well organised with a core team of engineers who would assist with any difficulties and also organised trips and social events.
Personal development is a major factor in the company and they aim to maximise your skills and abilities to the full. I was very impressed with the development scheme at ExxonMobil.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I was fortunate enough to be offered a position with ExxonMobil next year and I am very much looking forward to working full-time with them.
The Culture
Yes, there was a social budget set aside for the vacation students to use and we went on social events every weekend.
Lived in student accomodation in the city, which was relatively cheap.
Very good, plenty of restaurants/bars and I would recommend you try the frog and friggit bar!
There are several social clubs with collegues after work and I ended up playing in the 5-a-side football team
