The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at ExxonMobil; I learnt a great deal, gained a lot of experience and met some fantastic people.
My colleagues were fantastic, I really felt like one of the team. Everyone was fantastic and more than happy to talk to me and help me in my work.
The management gave me the support and guidance I needed to understand my projects and the Company, so that I could complete my work to high standard. They also gave me the opportunity to use my initiative and work on my own, creating a very good balance.
I always felt I had work to do, sometimes were busier than others, but overall the projects allocated to me were well suited to my placement.
My work was very well supervised but I was essentially given the responsibility for completing it. I analysed and presented the data myself, with only the necessary input.
The placement helped me develop my current skills base through application and use, while also signigificantly developing other skills that I am sure will prove useful in my final year and future career.
The Company
It was very friendly with a good working atmosphere.
Very well organised.
The Company invested in me by providing the placement and the opportunities to meet other placement employees and visit its sites. I could not have expected more.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
I would very much like to go back and work for the Company permanently but it depends on what Company recruitment opportunities arise.
The Culture
There was a good social scene with Company organised events sparking friendships and non-Company events.
Leatherhead is not a cheap area to live in but the scheme pays well.
There are some good pubs and bars to enjoy.
There were opportunities to organise socials and meet other placement students outside of work and there are many office sports teams.
