The Role
Fantastic, well thought out placement. A very positive and friendly environment to work in.
At no time during the placement did I feel like a 'placement student' - I was a member of the team like any other employee.
The level of supervision was excellent - helpful and supportive but not overbearing.
Generally the level of work was just right, and 'work-life balance' was considered very important.
A lot of responsibility, even early on. After two weeks I was meeting with industry representatives from outside the company to discuss the project!
I learned a lot that developed both my technical skills, and industry knowledge. The placement was excellent for personal development.
The Company
Very friendly and welcoming. There was a good sporting/social scene outside of the office too!
Seamless.
Included in the placement was a residential team building course, industry knowledge sessions, presentation coaching etc...
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I was offered a job as a result of the placement, which I will be accepting!
The Culture
Regular social activities were organised by a 'summer students social committee'.
The local area was at London prices, so obviously quite expensive. However the placement salary more than covered it!
Leatherhead was very limited! However with London on the doorstep, the choice is endless!
Plenty of sporting and social clubs run through the company.
