    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The job could be tedious during 'slow' periods in the office

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The more work I offered to take on the more valued I felt, I did not feel valued for day to day work.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Basic support, such as health and safety information, was very through. More detailed guidence took place in the handover period of the placement, a lot of lerning took place through trial and error

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This job definatley had extremes!! especially at the year end, things were particularly manic in the office.

    1/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Responsibility gradually increased through out the year, although great leaps were made when other members of staff were off sick.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • certain skills, such as organisational skills will be usefull for the rest of my life. It also gave me and interesting insight to the office environment

    3/5

    The Company

  • The office was a very quiet, serious environment, although there was the occasional birthday cake to brighten things up.

    1/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was fairly well organised, with dedicated Human Resources personnel, however the quality of the placement did depend on the department allocated

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • the company invested in two traing days, as well as a day induction on arrival.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Personnaly I am unsure about returning to this company as the departments i am interested in are not open to graduates.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were a few social occasions for the students at the company, mainly focused around the handover period. Students are split between different departments so it can be difficult to arrange social outtings

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Leatherhead is a very expensive place to live, this lead to most of the students living further away from the office to afford accomodation. the long coomute was not helpful when organising social activities

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Nightlife in Leatherhead is non existant!! however it is very close to london with good transport links

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Activities on offer included volunteering days and a couple of sports teams

    2/5
