I have really enjoyed my time at TPP. I was nervous about starting at a company far from my home town and thought I may feel very lonely. However, this has not been the case at all - everyone at TPP is so friendly. This makes for a great working environment, I have not once dreaded waking up and coming to work. The perks of this placement have been amazing - where else puts a free bar tab on every friday and gives you £200 just for having a birthday?
I have had the best year working at TPP! A concern I had when deciding to undertake a year in industry was being portrayed solely as a placement student and that I would be given little to no responsibility. However I truly feel my time and work at TPP has been truly appreciated and valued. My opinions and ideas have always been listened to and taken on board and I have always felt highly valued as an employee. Throughout the year I have gained and improved my interpersonal skills, my confidence and has prepared me hugely for life after University. However the best thing about working at TPP is not the amazing perks (such as free pub Fridays, £200 birthday meal allowance, international travel opportunities etc) but the people I have met and the lifelong friends I have made!
Working at TPP has been an absolutely amazing year! I have been able to get involved with so many different areas of the business and have learnt so much in the process. The company is definitely run with the idea of work hard, play hard. There's opportunity to mingle with people throughout the whole company with social events always going on and pub Fridays every week. One of the best parts about working there has got to be the people! Everyone that works there is so welcoming and friendly and always willing to help.
One worry that I had about coming into a company as a placement student was that it would be daunting and that I wouldn't be treated as a proper employee. This wasn't the case at all. Everybody was very welcoming from the very beginning, which made it easier for me to get comfortable in the role. I'm a big fan of the flat hierarchy and I love that everyone has a voice, whether they've been here 10 years or 2 days - all opinions are taken into account and questions listened to. The people at TPP really do make the job so enjoyable. I love that people from different departments intermingle - you don't see this in many other jobs. There's plenty of opportunity for us all to socialise together from free pub Fridays to TPP walks. I found myself becoming friends with people that I wouldn't normally get the chance to meet outside of work and I'm sure that I'll stay in contact with many of them when I leave. I didn't expect to learn as much as I have - I've developed so many skills and grown immensely in confidence. Thanks for a great year TPP!
