I thoroughly enjoyed my industrial work placement at Lubrizol, having the opportunity to complete design work on a variety of different engineering projects. I was allowed to gain hands-on engineering experience within the mechanical workshop, including programming and running the CNC lathe and milling machines. As well as my day to day work I was able to take part in the Engineering Education Scheme supporting a group of college students with an industry project. This ensured that my work was varied and allowed me to have a well-rounded and enjoyable experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed the placement as a whole. The site is set in a beautiful location and there is loads to see in the nearby areas. The people on site are just fantastic and can have a great laugh with near enough everybody. The canteen and other benefits which the company give you are top class.
I really enjoyed my year at Lubrizol! The role was varied which meant I was never doing the same task week in week out and also gave me the opportunity to work with many different people across the site and the globe. I was given real responsibility within the finance team and the support I received from my colleagues helped whenever I faced any issues.
The people were amazing and I got the chance to work as a full time employee, using equipment and techniques not available to me at Uni and working on real projects. My data will me used for research for years to come and that is very rewarding. I worked hard. There is no disputing that. I was a laboratory technician for a year, not really a student. This was both good and bad. Day to day it was amazing I had the level of respect of a full time employee but during coursework deadlines and exams it was difficult as if I didn't do my technician work it didn't get done which could lead to very costly problems. I worked hard but it has really paid off for me now.
I extremely enjoyed my work placement at Lubrizol. It's a lovely site with very friendly people working there. I was doing something different to my degree so it was interesting to see my skills and knowledge being applied in a slightly different area. I was able to develop many new skills and gained an immense amount of confidence.
I really enjoyed my placement. I worked as an application developer. I was given a lot of freedom and trust. Lubrizol treat interns/placement students as full time staff. I learnt lots of new technologies - C#, .NET and these were used to solve technical business problems.
I enjoyed my placement more than average. Working for Lubrizol was generally pleasant, considering the location of the business, quality and price of the canteen food and my work remit. My work was generally enjoyable, with average levels of responsibility eventually becoming bestowed about halfway into the placement.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year with Lubrizol, I was given more responsibility than I ever thought I would be given with regards to leading meetings, meeting key members of staff within the organisation and by the end of the placement, managing key supplier relationships. My experience of the Hazelwood site is that it is a great place to work, full of friendly people who are always looking to support you.
I really enjoyed my year at Lubrizol. From the start, everyone was friendly and helpful if I was struggling or required help. Lubrizol really looks after its employee's from things such as the subsidised cafeteria, social and sports clubs, managers making sure you feel happy/comfortable and not forgetting the best Christmas buffet lunch!
Regarding Information Technology Lubrizol is an amazing learning environment. You will be exposed to an array of new experiences and challenges they are willing to invest in their students. The Hazelwood department is friendly and supportive and are willing to tailor your student experience depending on your interests.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lubrizol. The experience I gained working with colleagues of varying job status, experience and background will be invaluable for my progression with my degree. The subjects specific to my work were foreign to me at first but i have come away from this year having learned more than I could have from university or books. It also allowed growth in areas non-specific to my degree as you work with a diverse range of people from different industries/backgrounds. I do not think I would have had the same experience anywhere else.
I really enjoyed my placement year at Lubrizol. My job was very interesting and I was made aware of the impact my work had on customers and the business. All staff members were very friendly and welcoming, which made it very easy to settle in and feel like part of the team.
