Really got an in-depth insight into all departments within Operations and got the ability to incorporate the knowledge I learned at university in a real business situation. Being the only intern gave me a better insight and more detailed knowledge into each area of the supply chain and Logistics.
I loved the experience and I loved how much responsibility the interns receive throughout the company. I learnt so much throughout the week and it had been a great experience meeting people in different sections and learning more of the company as a whole and what it stands for.
The insight was exciting and different to anything I have been involved with before. You are paired with an apprentice who guides you through your week and creates such a worthwhile experience. Everyone at L'Oréal is so lovely, you really feel part of the company.
Thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at L'Oreal as was given a high amount of responsibility alongside with all the necessary guidance and assistance to ensure I meet my set goals and targets. The training and integration into both my team and the wider Business was seamless and made the transition from University into the Corporate world so much easier.
Overall I enjoyed my placement year at L'Oréal. I liked the fact that I was given quite a lot of responsibility really early on in the internship. I also liked the fact that you join a specific brand within the company, it feels like you are joining a little family and doesn't make you feel as lost in such a big company. Working with these people on the brand makes it easier to start making connections as we did a few social events all together outside of work. Workwise I think that at the beginning of the placement I felt a bit overwhelmed with the workload that was being handed over but got to grips with all my responsibilities within a couple of months, at which point I started asking for more work.
I absolutely loved my placement at L'Oreal. As an intern you are given so much responsibility within your job role. There are also fantastic opportunities to get lots of training. You can work shadow others, which gives you experience and you can learn about more than your job role. It is hard work but you get recognition for hard work and it is worth really pushing yourself to learn as much as possible. The company culture, really makes it a fun and diverse working environment which is partly why I have loved working at L'Oréal this past year.
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at L'Oreal. I was given real work that actually contributed to the business which made the role both challenging and rewarding. I enjoyed the fact that the role was hard work, but I think L'Oreal makes this clear to applicants that the internship is demanding and they expect a lot from interns.
I enjoyed my placement with L'Oreal as you receive a huge amount of responsibility and ability to work autonomously. The staff shop benefits are unreal and the people are great! However, it's not an easy ride at all. There is a huge amount of pressure put on you from day 1, and if you are not able to be top of your game everyday and work hard and efficiently then it will be tough.
I enjoyed working as a Visual Merchandiser with the consumer products division because I was able to learn a lot in the 10 weeks. Due to the number of interns L'Oreal takes on, there is a really lovely social community between the interns. There are socials and sporting events that the intern committee organise and this made the placement really enjoyable.
I felt like a value member of the L'Oreal Business Development Team here from day one and have gained amazing business practice insights and learning from this experience. Working for a top UK employer like L'Oreal who are Beauty market leaders worldwide gives you an insight into global market dynamics and fosters a lot of personal development within you to meet the required level of excellence they look for in their employees!
Initially the work seemed slow, but on reflection, I believer this was due to the team trying to better understand my capabilities as an intern. After you prove yourself, your team is really encouraging for you to take on a bigger role. This is incredibly motivating as you can see the work you are doing has a direct impact on business activity.
