    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role consists of working on many areas of the brand. Firstly, working on the Gifting portfolio for all year round and Christmas. I also work on the development and artworks for new and existing products. As well as this, I work on the social side of the brand, building advocacy groups and sending out products to influencers. Additionally, there is a lot of data analysis and data pulling that I have to do. On a daily basis, I will work on all of this, which is challenging, yet rewarding.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Interpersonal skills - Through networking and other forms of communications, I have been able to create brilliant relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Communication skills - Whether I am presenting a product, pitching or presenting or emailing people, my skills during this year has improved drastically and my confidence to do so with that, having presented in important calls inside and outside of the business. Creative skills - Designing product artworks for gifting, NPDs and presentations, my creative skills have developed highly and my attention to detail with it. Cognitive skills - With various numerical databases and softwares, including Nielsen’s and Excel being used in the business I have really improved on data analysis and pulling data for the business.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Every week, I had updates with my line manager to see how my work load is, work out prioritisation and managing team expectations with different projects. Additionally, at the beginning of my time at L'Oreal I would have morning calls with my manager to discuss my to-do-list. Anything I ever needed, I would call the team or message them and they were always happy to help and answer questions.
