    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes. I believe I was provided with more responsibility than what I would have gotten in many other corporate giants such as L'Oreal. Being able to be at the table with the UK&I board meant not only networking with senior directors but also providing resources for and contributing to the decision-making process.

Not only do you have significant training sessions provided by HR as well as external coaches, but you are also presented with readily-available information and resources via all the company's platforms. You get directly submerged into the world of L'Oreal and are treated as a full time employee from day 1.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The atmosphere in the London office is genuinely lovely. I was able to forge relationships with people all across the business regardless of the division they operate in or their level of seniority. Everyone is so eager to learn more about you and if you express interest in any particular areas, they are sure to match you to the right people to reach out to.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I truly enjoyed my time here. I was provided with enough responsibility as to not feel completely overwhelmed by the amount of new information but also as to never feel bored or disconnected from the business. It is partially the type of environment where the more you reach out to people and get involved, the more you are going to take away from your experience - however, I absolutely love that.

  • 7. Would you recommend L'Oreal to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to L'Oreal
  • I would firstly say that they must be genuine. L'Oreal is really good at profiling people and genuinely understanding whether you, as a person, would be a good fit for L'Oreal. When applying, try to go beyond your typical responsibilities and work projects and try to connect with the interviewer on a more personal level regarding your personal experiences, ambitions and challenges in life.
