I loved my year at L'Oréal. The main thing that stands out to me is the calibre of people you are surrounded by. There is a real buzz in the office, with people clearly at the top of their game, whilst also taking the time to stop and enjoy themselves. There is also a real sense of team spirit, and people are always more than happy to help you develop in any way they can.
I absolutely loved my time working at L'Oréal! My team were supportive and welcoming throughout the entire year and I was constantly provided with new opportunities to develop my skills and review my goals. The HR team work extremely hard to ensure they place each new employee into the right team and I honestly couldn't have been happier in mine. I was lucky enough to have been placed under a brilliant manager who took the time out of her day whenever I needed her, no matter how busy she was. This was something that really surprised me, as previous to my placement beginning I assumed that due to the size of the company I would feel a bit lost within it. Couldn't recommend it enough!
I extremely enjoyed my placement. You are given responsibility from day one and provided with a wide range of different tasks which you are able to work on. I completed my internship in the Welsh Office and the people there are incredible. You are offered so much support, and you can build good strong relationships. I was able to build so much confidence and L'Oréal really look after their employees which is so good to see. I would really recommend taking up an internship in L'Oréal and I would still want to work for them in the future.
Overall I really enjoyed my placement year. I felt comfortable with my colleagues from day 1 and although my role was challenging at first, I was supported a great deal. The environment was fun, exciting and fast paced, making it a great place to work. I worked 9-5 most days, and pre-coronavirus, I usually worked from home once a week. Work-life balance is highly valued and I really liked this. There was also a lot of events and socials to get involved with outside of work.
Overall i really did love my placement at L'Oréal, the responsibility you get as an intern is extremely rewarding, i really did learn so much. However, more responsibility did sometimes mean more stress but i was lucky enough to have an incredible and supportive team around me! Even though i definitely did have some tough times i would do it again and again in a heart beat, they really are such an incredible company to work for!
Overall, working for L'Oréal was the most challenging but rewarding year of my life. While it is not always as glamorous as you might expect, the opportunities you are exposed to and the skills you develop are invaluable and will stay with you for the rest of your career. As with any job, there were both good and bad days, but it was a great advantage that no two days were the same. If you work hard, keep an open mind and throw yourself into the company, you will have a rewarding and enjoyable year.
I genuinely really enjoyed my year at L'Oreal. Although I really liked my role and the responsibility that I gained, the thing that made my year so amazing was definitely the people and the L'Oreal culture. My team became genuine friends for life, and I found that although L'Oreal work you hard, there is also a 'play hard', fun aspect to the culture. Learning is really encouraged and I have grown so much over the year. I'm sad to have left!
I absolutely loved the year, the people that I worked with were all lovely and wanted to make sure that I learnt as much as possible in my time there. I was given far more responsibility than I ever imagined, and was supported every step of the way. There is also a massive intern/apprentice/grad community so plenty of opportunities so socialise and get involved with events!
A placement year at L'Oreal is a challenging yet rewarding experience. You will be given an immense amount of responsibility from day one, whilst working not only with a great team, but with every member of your division. I would recommend this placement for anyone interested in consumer products and wanting to gain an insight into business.
During my work placement, I was able to work with top brands such as Valentino, Viktor&Rolf, Diesel, Ralph Lauren, Atelier Cologne and Maison Margiella. It was truly inspiring to be able to work with such a variety of fragrance brands in the Luxe department and understand the personality behind each brand - let alone the scents! I was able to use my creativity to design and produce beautiful visual merchandising experiences, as well as incorporating sustainability in everything I did.
During my Visual Merchandise placement I was fully exposed to all areas of the job, as well as other areas of interest like Marketing and Digital. The work was challenging but the excitement of working on real life projects was amazing, especially as I was given so much responsibility.
I really enjoyed my internship and have gained so much from the experience. I got to take on daily responsibilities and be accountable for my work. I also got to work with different people and get involved with lots of projects. I've learnt so much within my role and value the structures internship that L'Oreal have in place.
I really loved my time at L'Oreal! L'Oreal gave me a very hands-on view of what it's like to be working here as a grad or on a full time role and I'm really grateful I was given the opportunity to learn and be involved in many projects during my internship. I think the amount of responsibility you get given at such an early stage is great and it really allowed for me to understand my role whilst seeing how my function worked.
My summer internship at L’Oreal exceeded my expectations. It was the best internship I have had so far as the working culture made it a pleasure for me to go to work every day. The job was interesting and stimulating at the same time and got to learn so many new things.
