My past 10 weeks was a complete joy from beginning till the end. Even as an intern, there is a lot of responsibilities in the role but everyone around is willing to support and help you learn as much and fast as you can. This is the place where you can bring all your ideas to life with the help of your team and managers.
I'm so happy I took the opportunity to work here at L'Oreal this Summer. I've had a fantastic time - it's been challenging, but so interesting and rewarding at the same time, and I feel like I've learnt a huge amount. The social aspect is great too, and everyone is so friendly that I felt at home almost straight-away. Really good ten weeks!
I really enjoyed my internship, I felt as though I was a valuable part of the business. I learned a lot about being in such a huge business, about the culture here at L'Oréal. The knowledge that I gained was very useful and I will be able to use in all aspects of life.
I really enjoyed my time at L'Oréal, I thought it was really rewarding and offered a lot of exciting opportunities. Everyone was really nice and friendly and it was really interesting to be given such a variety of tasks to assist my brand. The working culture is really strong here and there is a healthy sense of collaboration and cooperation.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at L'Oréal. L'Oréal is such a fast paced business with so much variety - truly no two days are the same and I'm so grateful for the growth that I've developed in my time here both professionally and personally. They really put value on making sure there's balanced lifestyles and that's amazing.
I was given tasks to complete on my own which was a great opportunity considering I've only been here 10 weeks. L'Oréal really try to match people with their skills and interest which is great because you can work on projects that mean something to you. I enjoy the vibe of the building and the working atmotsphere
Over the ten weeks I was accepted with welcome arms into the company. The team I worked for quickly adapted to make space for me and to ensure I felt comfortable working in their team. I was kept busy, but had constant support whilst completing all tasks as well as there being a large variety of social activities to allow me to meet other interns.
L’Oreal was one of my dream companies to work for but I was constantly on a roller coaster while at my internship, reaching very high highs (ie: big projects, a lot of responsibility, autonomy, seeing the impact of my work on the wider business) and some very stressful lows (ie: unsupportive team, negative and stressful atmosphere, minimal team bonding, constantly having to work late hours, large workload). While I can say I am happy I did my internship at L’Oreal, I can also say that it was a challenging journey and almost all interns during our last week left feeling mixed emotions. I wish our HR intern & emerging talent team was more hands on and checked up on us. I remember only seeing them once in the beginning of the year. It would have been helpful to check up on us mid year to see how things were going and help with the stress.
The placement at L’Oréal was the best experience at learning about how to work in a large company and gain knowledge first-hand. I met have met some inspirational people who have taught me about how to be successful in my career. I have been worked on a project from the planning stages through to its successful execution which is definitely a highlight.
Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement at L'Oréal. I think this can hugely depend on what job role, function and division you are placed within and who your manager is. At times, I think that a large amount of pressure can be placed on interns however this in turn all helps you to grow as an individual.
Despite a difficult start where I felt a little overwhelmed with responsibility, I loved my time at the company. It's given me an invaluable set of soft skills for a corporate environment and I've gained confidence, going into my final year at uni, that no challenge is too great if I really apply myself.
My placement year has been such a good experience and I couldn't recommend doing one enough. L'Oréal has been really good to work for as I have had the opportunity to take on a variety of tasks and projects as well as meet some amazing friends that I will have for life. There are so many things to get involved with around your job that I highly encourage getting involved in.
