    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I worked within the Customer Masterdata team within customer service, which is a multidivisional sector of the company. I examined account identification documentation, which is an audit requirement compliant with internal controls. I regularly compared existing data and analysed it with automated Power BI data that was implemented externally outside of the UK and Ireland. I participated in meetings to show the improvement and process of cleansing the old data for the new software. Day-to-day, I use Excel to organise and analyse data for the financial directors. I reviewed all the divisions account identifications to see if they had been interacted with in the past 2 years and whether they were active. I analysed errors and differences between automated analysis and manual analysis, which led me to sort the data into different places to determine its importance.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Excel has provided me with the tools to learn how to manage and analyse data. In Microsoft Teams, I was exposed to a variety of new abilities, including presenting. Independent study has also provided me with the knowledge necessary to understand how Power BI functions and how to apply that knowledge using Excel. As a result of working on my project with other people, I improved my ability to collaborate effectively. In addition to that, I have gained access to a network and built a relationship with the team that I am in.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was responsible for internal controls and audit compliance by reviewing account identification papers. I used external Power BI tools outside the UK and Ireland to compare and evaluate data for my job. I also showed progress in cleansing old data to easily transition to new software platforms in meetings. I organised and analysed data for our financial directors in Excel to guide decisions. I checked all account identifications across business divisions for accuracy and relevance. This requires evaluating their two-year contact history and determining their activity. Identifying and fixing conflicts and errors between automatic and human data processing required detailed data classification by significance. These obligations ensured customer data integrity and reliability, helping our operations.
