Amazing experience, lots of training and learning involved. We had a lot of opportunities as interns with UBS as part of the programme for personal development and many others. Full-time employees embraced us and were willing to help and share with you their personal experience working in UBS, the financial sector and not only.
This was an amazing experience. A lot of credit has to go to the people I was surrounded by. Despite being an intern, I felt like I was seen by my team as though I was a permanent employee. This really helped my ability to interact with my team mates and also made asking for help easier. It has been a really enjoyable experience and I have engaged in various social activities outside of work with my team and other interns. These really played a role in getting to know people beyond their role.
The internship has been thoroughly enjoyable overall, incorporating a number of varied and challenging exercises alongside stimulating desk work and personal research. Taking part in the trading game in particular was a fun and engaging experience, giving us both a team and individual perspective on managing a portfolio with 'real' consequences of our choices.
It's a very challenging and stimulating experience. I am learning a lot both in my current role and by shadowing and meeting people in different teams. Everybody is very helpful and the work environment is focused on excellence, without being toxically competitive. I feel I have responsibilities and I am treated as a true employee.
Doing an internship at UBS was a very unique experience, I learnt a lot about trading and finance in general. Although the internship is quite challenging, I am really happy I had the chance to do it. It is enjoyable because you have the opportunity to explore different teams, so lots of space to find teams that fit your skill set best.
I have enjoyed my placement at UBS so far, as I have been given large amounts of responsibility and I work within a very friendly international team. It will definitely prepare me for whatever I do in my career after University. I would recommend this placement to anyone looking for a year in work.
I really enjoyed it. Getting involved in the markets everyday is a great thing to do because it means you are much more read up on everyday politics and events. Also it was great fun being in a trading environment, which I feel is a great place to work because it brings a good buzz.
