Overview
Networking around the trading floor. Completing various projects for the desk you are rotating on - this varies by desk. Taking part in internship events such as a trading game and market wrap. Some group and individual presentations, as well as attending several speaker events.
Skills
Yes - plenty. Communication, collaboration, analysis, teamwork, and many financial skills that I did not previously possess.
Responsibilities
Not able to trade or speak to clients on an internship as you are not regulated, so not much - but this is not the fault of the firm.
Support & Guidance
A lot - the seniors and juniors in the business were fantastically helpful and supportive throughout. Also assigned a mentor and a buddy from the very beginning.
Culture
It was great. Everyone is super friendly and inclusive. People are willing to take time to give you guidance and support.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it thoroughly. Met some great people and hope to be back for the GTP.
Yes
Just make sure your genuine and authentic character shines through when applying - this made all the difference.
