Group Risk Control Placement

Your Role

You’ll help us protect our reputation, financial health and long-term interests by helping us identify, measure and control risks.

You Will:

  • support business areas on laws, regulations and rules that govern their day-to-day activities
  • examine the risk of complex transactions,
  • advise the business of regulatory development
  • analysis and evaluate risk modelling techniques
  • help us protect our reputation, financial health and long-term interests by helping us identify, measure and control risks.

Your Team

You’ll work in Group Risk Control. As a part of the risk function, you will help us identify, assess, advise, decide, monitor and report on credit, market and operational risks, recommending appropriate mitigating actions. As part of the compliance function, you will focus on the regulatory and compliance framework applicable to the global compliance and operational risk control function of our investment banking division.

Your Expertise

You need to be in the last two years of your degree and have, or be on track for, a 2:1 or the equivalent in your first undergraduate degree. It doesn’t matter what you’re studying. (Really, it doesn’t.)

But we’d like to see evidence that you can:

  • analyze a problem, take a view and come to a decision
  • plan, organize and communicate well
  • make things happen
  • stick with a task
  • work in a team
  • come up with ideas

Perhaps you’ve organized a fundraising event or taken part in team sports? Or persevered and passed an exam in a subject you found challenging? Think about how things you’ve achieved match the skills we’re after.
