Overview
- get involved in tasks done by the team (replicate, assist colleagues, lead an activity, innovate and propose the implementation of a new idea): risk management, cost supervisory, change the bank initiatives, ... - self explore and use new tools (Dealogic, Business Objects, etc.) and collaborate with experts for further training - interact with employees from across the Bank through speaker series sessions and coffee chats
Skills
- improved Excel skills - developed knowledge of the World of Banking and the various jobs within it - used new tools (Dealogic, Business Objects, Alteryx) - learnt how to deal and interact with colleagues, people outside my team, and senior employees in a professional manner - bettered my communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities
Yes! When I started, I was replicating tasks my colleagues had done, and then I was assisting them, before getting involved in activities I was fully leading. This evolution has been very rewarding as I learnt a lot and it has also been satisfying to see my progression in only a few weeks.
Support & Guidance
My colleagues and line manager were very supportive and approachable. I always felt comfortable asking questions when I was stuck or when I wanted to learn more about a certain topic. I have also found it very easy to reach out to experts outside the team for complex matters and everyone was happy to help!
Culture
It was amazing! People are so friendly, interested, supportive. I reached out to many people across the Bank for coffee chats and learn more about the overall organisation of the Bank and no one has ever said no!! I was very positively surprised by the diversity of people on my floor and overall, in terms of gender and race especially!!!
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed it overall! I learnt so much, I met very interesting people and built a strong network, I was able to be involved in meaningful activities and to make an impact.
Yes
To be who they are, really!!!! No one here is playing roles and it makes the environment so genuine, friendly, supportive! To meet and speak to as many people as possible! To ask all the questions you can't find the answer to after researching and reflecting!!! It's better to ask sooner than later.
