The Role
I absolutely loved my year at Mindshare! My expectations of this year were so far from the reality of my time here. Such a vibrant, inspiring place to work, not only because of the people I have met and worked with, but the general company ethos, environment and energy all helped to make this an excellent workplace.
At Mindshare I was not often treated as 'the intern' and I was given tasks that made me feel like a valuable part of the team. In addition, Mindshare provided a lot of support with personal and professional development, which made me feel like a real part of the company as opposed to an outsider.
Mindshare are great at providing personal support; I received mentoring sessions and was helped to set myself objectives, then review my progress at different points in my internship. My manager was also great in supporting me in day-to-day tasks, helping me with anything I was struggling with and managing my workload. I was made to feel confident that I could ask for help when I needed it.
I was in the Media Planning department, so my day-to-day was always packed! Including a mixture of work for my client, work for my team, internal and external meetings, and the occasional lunch outing!
As I progressed, building up my knowledge and skillset, I was given increased responsibility. Enough that I felt like a valued member of the team, but nott too much that I felt overwhelmed.
The Company
The office was a really great place to work, with a modern feel and fun atmosphere, there was never a dull moment at Mindshare!
As I was the first intern to work on my account, so the placement was as organised as it could be.
Mindshare invested a lot in me professionally, supporting me through multiple internal and external training programs and sessions. They also paid for me to take the IPA foundation certificate exam (an industry recognised qualification).

I am very happy to say I will be returning to Mindshare when I graduate!!
The Culture
There are several interns working at Mindshare at one time, so you all get to know each other and go out together. But there was also a lot of opportunity to make pals in my own team.
Living in London has been pretty pricey, but that is to be expected! I had to share a flat on the outskirts, which is not ideal, but definitely manageable.
There are several sports clubs that are run by and for Mindshare employees.
