The Role
A buzzing placement that would be beneficial to any student. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
We were such a close knit bunch that everyone felt valued and valued each other. We were all so supportive of each others opinions and decisions that it allowed each member of the team to feel like their involvement was instrumental to the outcome.
Each week I had a short meeting with the manager to discuss how my placement was progressing. He was very approachable so I always felt that if I needed him I could contact him outside of our meeting hours.
I never stopped working. It's such a fast-paced environment that any slacking sees you being left behind. I always tried to work to a high speed because I didn't want to slow my team down and make them feel like I was inadequate.
I was very heavily involved in advertising the products and a lot of my suggestions were actually implemented in campaigns.
The business aspects of the placement were very beneficial but the advertising side was a little surplus to my degree's requirements.
The Company
If your idea of 'fun' is hard work then the fun never stops. You are constantly working so if you're like me and enjoy pushing yourself, you'll really enjoy coming into work every day.
It was quite a slow and frustrating process but in the end they granted me a placement at the company.
I was given the opportunity to go on multiple courses to enhance my advertising knowledge and skills. The company really tried to help me make the most of my placement year.

Financial Bonus
If you impress the management during your placement then there is a really good chance that you will be offered some type of job. I was offered a position but had to decline the offer as I felt that advertising wasn't where I saw my career heading.
The Culture
Everyone was very social and talkative which definitely livened up the lunch hours. I made a really great friend from my time at the company.
Anyone who spends any amount of time in London will tell you that it isn't a cheap place to visit. After paying my rent, bills and food costs I had very little money left and couldn't afford to do much socialising.
From the odd night out that I allowed myself to have, I would say that London is a pretty good area for nightlife.
A charity run for cancer was the only activity that I can recall occurring.
