The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed the 8 weeks which proved to be challenging, stretching and incredibly rewarding.
Colleagues were always there to help and support and I was made to feel part of the team immediately.
My manager was happy to have objective and feedback sessions weekly and so I was able to reflect on my progression and build upon areas I needed to develop. My manager was always there if I needed help, yet at the same time, gave me enough space and trust so that I could complete tasks by myself.
I was given a main project which took up the majority of my time, however my manager was happy for me to put my hand to other projects which would further my commerical knowledge.
From the outset of my placement I was given trust, responsibility and support. This meant I was able to take on opportunities from the very start and was able to benefit the company with real, tangible results.
My placement will undoubtedly stand me in a great stead for my final year at university and beyond. It has allowed me to understand my business skills, improve my communication, and significantly devlop my commerical understanding. Not least, it has given me a real desire to work for Sainsbury's.
The Company
Although hard working and driven, colleagues were always up for a laugh and there were lots of social events in the evening to attend if you wanted.
The placement was very well organised and it was great that I was always kept busy with projects that were important to the business.
We were given frequent training and development days, as well as feedback sessions to ensure we were happy with the tasks we were being set.
