The Role
It was one of the toughest jobs I have ever encountered but the team around me and my management team really helped my own development. And now I don't just have a team or colleagues I've left with lifelong friends.
My own manager really helped me develop on both a personal and professional level. The trick is remembering that they're people going through a development programme too. So they might screw up every now and again but they're only human
Extremely busy! As a junior manager I had a bit more responsibility than the fundraisers but I loved it. It's what drives me and keeps me going. If you like being busy, this is the job for you!
I would have liked a bit more responsibility from my manager as I felt like I wasn't being utilised entirely. But champions offers development within the company which means there's always that chance for more and more responsibility
Organisation, time-keeping, selling ideas, leading others. Yup you can definitely say champs has given me skills for life
The Company
Living in a house with complete strangers there was always going to be some difficulties along the way. But overall our region felt like a family and you knew you had people there who were looking out for you
Time-management and organisation from the senior managers wasn't handled brilliantly. It was definitely an area champs needs to work on!
An incredible amount of time is given on training and development. That is what champions is all about and they really do focus on it. Training sessions nearly everyday, one on one's with not only your manager but your senior manager and also heads of the company!
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Champions loves to see people coming back and working for the company. If you work for it you can definitely climb up the champs ladder
The Culture
About 7 nights out and days off over the course of the programme, only as fun as you make them!
Whilst you are paid on programme and it is reasonable pay unless you really save you will break even during the course of the programme
Champs works in different regions, in my region (Northampton) the nightlife was a little dull, but the people definitely made it worthwhile
There were set days off but it was pretty difficult to organise things during the working day because of how full your schedule was
