The Role
Champions Life Academy is really fun and intense experience. It is fun to live and work with other students as you get on well and can have fun when you are not working too. It is really rewarding and fulfilling when you are knocking but also a good atmosphere all round.
I was a driver for champions life academy so felt valued my most of my colleges as everyone was grateful that we have some drivers as in our region a lot of drivers quit. you are put into smaller teams that you live with and I felt like a valued part of my team even though i came into the process later on as SS2.
Can go to senior managers for emotional support as well as help with the job and improving. There is opportunity for one to ones so can get help and in field training to improve your skills.
When they say you will have morning off- this is not the case. The latest that we started was 11 and most mornings it was to be ready for 10. You don't really get time in the evenings either as you get back from field around 10. Got about 4/5 mondays off out of 9 weeks. Never bored though.
Given quite a lot of responsibility as i was a driver so had to be on time for field and drive everyone there and back every day. Also got senior sales person position so had responsibility to lead by example and help out at hub in the mornings with activities and stuff.
Champions life academy really has improved my communication skills and confidence to talk to other people. Which will help with working with others in degree projects and also in future events such as interviews and future work life. Being able to stay calm in stressful situations too.
The Company
Atmosphere was in general very up beat and positive however when everyone gets tired it gets a bit negative and hard to keep going. If you have a good team then it can be very fun and happy and the atmosphere is fun in field and also at home.
organisation is not a strong point. before the sales school i send several emails and got no response so i went to sales school not really knowing what is going on. Everything is planned last minute and you cant plan anything in advance. Everyone is always late when they say you should always be on time.
Got loads of training at the sales school and some more training mornings and days throughout the programme. Some of them I didnt feel like were worthwhile. As a driver, had to drive down to reading from Nottingham for about three speeches and drive back and knocking in the same day.
Company Car
Company Parties/Events
opportunity to be invited to future management assessment weekend at the end of the programme and if are promoted to senior sales person then you get automatically invited.
The Culture
There are good socials on days off but there isnt much time off so socialising when you are no on a day off is hard,
Gets quite expensive when you are buying food and lunch, you also have to pay for fuel. You dont really get a lot of money out of doing this internship as what you get paid is what you use to live on. Cost of days out can add up like days to alton towers, bowling, cinema, water park.
Good nightlife as are in nottingham
Can do loads of stuff on days off but isnt time when it isnt a day off to do much. There is not time in mornings or evenings to do any social things. If you want to do something in the morning, you need to get up really early and lose out on sleep.
