The Role
I had a great time and really enjoyed both working for the company and the people I was fortune to work with on a daily basis.
I am a natural outspoken person so I usually fit in well in new situations and this was no different.
Sainsbury's has a great graduate advice team who I met with regularly, though there wasn't many, if any, problems I encountered on my placement, other than it ending!
I like to keep busy and I'm very confident in myself so I took on a lot of responsibilty from the start and worked hard to impress the managers.
I was working with several people on several large projects so it was more of a shared group responsibility more than an individual responsibility. Though, I did find that my competitve nature and willingness to be at the forefront made me take on a lot more of the project than others involved.
My placement has definitely improved my understanding and confidence as well as my interpersonal skills.
The Company
I love being busy and busy we were so I loved it. I went in everyday saying: 'bring it on!'
As I mentioned there's a great graduate advice team so they were incredibly helpful in setting up and transitioning my placement.
There were so many possible courses that I could enrol on but I found that I only had time to attend one unfortunately.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I have applied for their graduate scheme, so fingers crossed!!!!!
The Culture
I went to the pictures and for drinks with quite a few of my fellow placement students and have remained friends with a few of them
Sooooooooo expensive! I couldn't believe how expensive Central London is!
Loads and loads of nightlife but not enough money to try them all!
Parties and drinking sessions were regular occurrences which were great rowdy fun!
