Overview
I was involved in regular meetings about certain projects I was contributing towards. Presenting findings/progress was also a big part of my placement. Gathering data and requirements for each project was key, using Excel to analyse/present data was also a big part of my role.
Skills
1. Presentation skills 2. Excel skills 3. Development of my social intelligence and people skills, I developed a great network from my placement,
Responsibilities
Yes, however I feel I could have been given more guidance at the start of my placement so I understood exactly what was expected from me.
Support & Guidance
I received a good amount of support. However I did always feel a bit confused into where I fitted in within a department. I never really had a good piece of work to get stuck into that I was really passionate about, I was confused why I was put in some areas given my Degree and area of interest.
Culture
I found the culture really good and everyone was friendly. I dint find it a stressful place to work.
Your Impressions
I did enjoy my placement and I had the great opportunity of meeting lots of people and forming a wide network. I even had the chance to travel abroad which was amazing. As already said although my experience was positive I was confused why I was working where I was given my Degree and passions. I think there should be more structure around their placement program and allocate people to areas that compliment their degree and interests.
Yes
It is a great company to work for and I can see myself thoroughly enjoying working their in the future.
