I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at IBM - I have been able to work on a number of interesting deals and opportunities, learn about many new and interesting technologies, and also been able to meet and work alongside many different people, internationally who have all been supportive and encouraging.
I really enjoyed my placement year, it was a good experience and I learned a lot about what it's like to be in the workplace and work as a member of a team. What made it slightly more difficult was that I was based in the midlands location which has very few other interns, and subsequently a lot less opportunity.
The opportunities available while on placement are by far the most enjoyable aspect of the placement. Whilst I have been here, I have been involved with a number of things outside of my day role where time has allowed which has really helped me develop a wide range of skills. For example, I have led my own team, been a video panel host, produced and edited a number of videos, learnt how to coach, completed 13 different externally recognised badges on IBM's Your Learning Platform in topics from Agile, to Blockchain, to cloud, to consulting. The opportunities are endless!
I have had a brilliant year! IBM is well set up to take on interns and it shows, the experience you get is amazing. There are so many opportunities to get involved in and you are encouraged to make the most of your year. I haven't given ten/ten purely as my role is not necessarily what I would want to do in the future but I thank my manager for all the support I was given. One of the things that makes an IBM internship so great is the early profession community. There are hundreds of people aged between 18-25 within Foundation which makes your time so much more enjoyable.
I have really enjoyed the placement. It provided me with many development opportunities and left me satisfied with the work I do. The team was great, supportive, helpful. IBM culture is what makes the company stand out in the pool of corporations. I highly recommend a placement with IBM if you are looking for a challenge or want to develop in different areas.
Overall I have really enjoyed my placement at IBM, I have a lot of really interesting people, some of which I know I'll stay in contact with when I leave. I really liked the IBM Culture where everyone is valued whether you're intern or a manager - I always felt like my opinions and questions were always welcome.
My internship at IBM was above and beyond what I was expecting. I had the opportunity to work in an amazing team alongside two other interns. The work I completed was not monotonous, I worked on a number of different campaigns across the year. I have really enjoyed the opportunities I have been presented with whilst as IBM and have gained so much experience along the way.
My placement was very enjoyable. IBM gives you a real job with real responsibilities. I was held accountable for my work. Throughout the year I was given a variety of jobs and was able to network with people throughout the company. I cannot thank IBM enough for the experience.
I enjoyed working for a very large company and my placement was useful for improving my technical skills, however my day-to-day activities could get quite boring and repetitive. I liked working in an office, however would have prefered more opportunities to move around and perhaps see other offices.
I really did enjoy my placement a lot. I was placed on an account so got to see the real work that IBM does and I was in no way just someone getting cups of coffee or working the printer (took me 6 months to learn how to them - they're very complicated!)
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at IBM. I was given many opportunities to work with a wide range of people from across the company. It was a great environment to learn new skills and improve upon my communication. There were many great people to support and guide me through my placement, which was great as a point of contact.
I really enjoyed my time at IBM. I was provided with lots of opportunity to develop my own skills, whilst also being given time to use my current skill set in environments that we new to me. The process of applying only lasted 1 month which is very good in my opinion.
I loved my time at IBM and I highly recommend it as one of the best placement schemes out there! The intake of placement students is huge so you feel like you're all in in together and the support system that they have in place is one you cannot fault. You are made to feel welcome and supported from day 1.
Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed my work experience at IBM. I was given a lot of responsibility throughout my placement and I’ve had a range of diverse roles to do. The opportunity to have a person dedicated to your development is a massive plus and I would definitely recommend IBM as a place to do a placement.
I enjoyed my placement at IBM hugely - I was given the freedom and opportunities to explore various different areas of the account I worked on, and was supported by my manager throughout. I was able to request and gain more exposure to the areas of the business I most enjoyed working in, and was able to tailor my experience according to the skills I wanted to develop with full support.
