I really enjoyed my placement at IBM in marketing. There was plenty of opportunities to get involved in many exciting projects, work with different large agencies. I had the chance to take on responsibility so there was never a dull moment. Would highly recommend a placement at IBM.
I really enjoyed my placement at IBM. It was a great first working environment to enter as my team were so welcoming and supportive. I was quick to settle in and quickly got involved with the opportunities available outside my role such as volunteering, projects and communities.
I would rate my placement as a 9/10 in terms of enjoyment. I have learnt on the job each and every day which made coming into work enjoyable. No two days on my placement have been the same and this kept it interesting. There were lots of opportunities available to me and the chance to work in lots of different areas, involving a wide variety of tasks to carry out. My work placement has certainly been very enjoyable.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at IBM. It was full of fantastic opportunities to work with some top clients, including Liverpool FC and NHS, and easy to gain recognition from senior members of staff. The environment within the company is fun and energising, especially within the Design department which I was in, and the culture is very accepting to anyone and everyone. I would definitely recommend IBM to anyone who is considering doing a placement year as a designer.
I had pleasure of working with an amazing, small team with the ability to grow my skills in many areas and work with a brilliant global network. I was given the opportunity to travel abroad and complete projects in many aspects of work. The offices are friendly environments and there was flexibility to work from home when needed. I felt like I had a responsibility when doing my job and took a major leadership role on one particular initiative.
My placement involved external activities outside my role where I was able to explore other opportunities that was supported by the company and the team. I have enjoyed my day to day role, being involved in all activities, but also enjoyed the fact I was able to be flexible and pushed to develop my skill set and knowledge.
I have absolutely loved my job at IBM. Although the job role wasn't what I expected (the job description was a bit vague), I have managed to learn so many new things, learn about different parts of the business and mold the role to become my role. I am so glad I have spent my year at IBM. It has been hard in places but it's been satisfying to know that my work is 'real' work and that it helps the business.
I really enjoyed my placement year here at IBM. Not only was I able to gain experience in multiple different areas such as project management, communication, auditing, and website design. I also was able to gain training in Design Thinking & Agile and get an actual certification for these skills. IBM also had an amazing work culture, unlike a lot of other companies I applied to.
I loved my placement year, it was an amazing experience and I was exposed to so many different opportunities in both the internal space and client facing work. I have worked with a plethora of clients and been represented as an important member of the team and delivered important work to clients.
I thoroughly enjoyed my work placement. IBM supported my development throughout the year and allowed me to gain an insight into numerous different areas of the company. I had the privilege of attending numerous external events such as the IBM THINK Summit, the Festival of Innovation and the Aviation Festival.
I have really enjoyed my placement year. I have met some really lovely people and have developed a lot of new skills. In my role, I was given real responsibility, which was extremely exciting and rewarding. The placement scheme at IBM is really well organised which makes for an enjoyable placement overall.
I enjoyed my placement thoroughly due to the diverse culture and a team which has allowed me to open up and be myself where my opinion is valued. The values of IBM align greatly with mine and this has led me to feel comfortable within my role and take on any challenge.
My placement with IBM has been the most valuable year of my life. Starting out in an internal role, I was responsible for collating data for weekly reviews which would be used for to make managerial decisions. As well as my internal role, I was able to work directly with our clients to get a feel for consulting ahead of a potential grad role.
My placement at IBM was a really great insight into working within industry. Through hard work, I was able to shape my placement into activities that I enjoyed, taking part in additional responsibilities. From the very start there is a strong sense of community within the intern group and this really enhanced the experience.
I had a great time. My boss was great and the other employees working around me were really easy to get on with. I felt like i got alot out of the year and have come out a better person. My technical skills have improved drastically and the days passed really quickly.
I think that the job was pretty standard, however I was often finding there was not enough to do throughout the day and my manager was often busy so I would be left with no work to do for hours at a time. I was also the only person my age in the team so it felt quite lonely.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at IBM due to the people I worked with as well as the level of responsibility I was given. I feel as though I've had a true 'taste' of what having a professional job such as this one is like. I've developed a wide range of skills that will provide me with more choice in a job once I leave university.
I loved my work placement! Working at IBM has been a fantastic experience and I am thrilled that I had the opportunity to do so. I have grown so much over the past year and have a much clearer idea on what I want to do in future. If you are considering applying to IBM, do it! The experiences and friends you'll make on your journey will be life changing!
