I really enjoyed my placement year at IBM. My role was very diverse, and I managed a wide variety of tasks. I had exposure to management, suppliers and buyers from all lines of business. Although I had no knowledge or experience of Procurement, this did not matter and I learned a lot on the job.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at IBM. It offered exciting challenges that allowed me to develop personally and professionally. All throughout the year I was enjoying my roles, the people I interacted with and the large amounts of opportunities to get involved in. From starting new projects to even giving back to others through giveback schemes.
I wholeheartedly enjoyed my Placement Year at IBM, I was truly respected and appreciated as a team member and my ideas and contributions were always considered. I would highly recommend anyone to apply to IBM it was the best decision I have made in my academic and future career so far.
This year has allowed me to get a grasp on what it is like working for a blue chip company and the exposure you would expect on a placement - as well as getting an enormous amount of connections. My start of the year was in a role which ended which I was happy about because I didn't enjoy it. Furthermore, I then got the placement role of my dreams, which has been 10/10.
I really enjoyed my placement year. The office had a much more friendly atmosphere than I had anticipated before starting my placement and my team and managers were very friendly and welcoming. The other interns who were at IBM were also all very friendly. I also enjoyed the projects I worked on throughout the year.
I really enjoyed my placement working in the Project Management Office at IBM. I got to know lots of brilliant people and feel that I really built on my skills and knowledge in the professional business environment - giving me the stepping stones to build a career after I graduate from university.
I enjoyed my placement year from start to end. I have learnt many skills and technical abilities that I would never have been exposed to if I did not undertake a placement year. I feel my placement year has truly added value to me, my studies and my employability. Huge thanks to IBM!
I throughly enjoyed my placement at IBM. It allowed me to gain a wide range of business and techinical skills which I can adapt to use in serveral roles across a business. My placement allowed me to gain both social and work relationships which will be valuable for my future.
The placement year was excellent, it provided a great overview to what it was like to work for such a large company. We were all actively encouraged to undertake futher work outside of out day job in areas that interested us in order to experience other parts of the business which was great
During my placement at IBM I was challenged and felt valued by my team. The Foundation placement scheme was well organised and provided plenty of opportunity both professionally and socially, helped by being based in their London location. I have really enjoyed my time working here and hope to be accepted into their graduate program.
The work I completed was both eye opening and enjoyable, the work life balance that came from this role as well was amazing. I'm not saying IBM is laid back and relax but it works on the facts that if you get your work done and make sure you are being the best you possible then you don't have to stress, it created a very stress free and enjoyable environment to be in.
I enjoyed my placement very much as it definitely has given me an opportunity to experience working in a corporate environment. That said, it further developed my skill-set from university and put it into good use at the workplace. At IBM, you will get different experiences in IBM's technology which will definitely heighten your technical knowledge.
My placement at IBM this year has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I've been able to explore areas of a business I didn't know existed, while building skills and sharing knowledge, and discovering my passion which has shaped my future career journey.
Overall, I have immensely enjoyed my placement with IBM. I have learned so much about real-life business that I really think will stand me in good stead for the future. It completely exceeded my expectations in terms of the responsibility I was given. I was also able to create a wide group of networks form all around the country in lots of different industries.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my year at IBM, it is such a great organisation to have gained such valuable experience from. My role has been really interesting and I have always felt supported. There are great opportunities outside your role to get involved in as well and you are encouraged to do so.
I did really enjoy my placement at IBM, the workload was manageable, there were only a few times where I would have to spend time outside of the normal 9am-5pm. The environment at Hursley was vey welcoming and warm. Everyone for the most part was very good to work with.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year with IBM, for a number of reasons. First, you are doing vital work, and from the first day you are given real responsibility, in a manageable load. So you make an impact straight away but crucially you are not overwhelmed, and there is a lot of support both professionally and personally through the two manager system (line and task) Secondly, it's more than just a job, the number of social events surprised me, from celebrating Diwali with our Indian colleague, to an intern boat party of the Thames, there is so much opportunity to network with many levels of the business, and experience the IBM community. Thirdly, you are not left in the blue, from the start of the application process, you know where you are, and what the next steps are. Once you start, again the progression is clear and if there is ever a time you what to change role, the managers are very accommodating for this. I would recommend this opportunity to anyone - your degree or experiences are not important, it is your drive to learn that is important.
I found working at IBM for my placement year to be thoroughly worthwhile. The design studio I worked in was very welcoming and the work I have been involved in while on placement has been really interesting. I never thought I would actually look forward to going into work on a Monday morning!
