I absolutely loved the internship, and it exceeded my initial expectations! I received broad training on managing language projects from start to finish, and there was always a variety of tasks to work on, so the workload never felt repetitive or boring. The internship was organised so well, and I would definitely recommend it to anybody interested in working in the Translation industry!
Honestly, I didn't particularly enjoy the internship. If I had known what it was going to be like before I signed the contract, I would never have decided to undertake the internship. The work is very monotonous and boring and I didn't feel that I had the chance to progress or develop. I also didn't like the general attitude towards interns - I didn't feel that they were particularly valued. However, I did make some friends for life. If it wasn't for the other interns and friends that I made at the company, I wouldn't have lasted as long as I did. At least I now know that the translation industry is not the right one for me!
I enjoyed the internship as I learnt a lot and the company as a whole is very welcoming and friendly. I was completely thrown into the deep-end with little to no training which meant that I had to learn on the job. This made me learn faster however the internship definitely lacked training, hence I spent a lot of my time interrupting full-time members of the team to ask questions. I also noticed that the type of work within the industry can be very repetitive and includes a lot of admin hence it became difficult to stay focused towards the end of my internship.
Working at Language Connect was challenging and rewarding in equal measures. Although tasks were similar, they also felt varied because of the broad variety of subjects and brands available to work on. I had great colleagues at Language Connect and learnt a lot not only from the tasks but from them as well! Throughout this internship I discovered that I would really like to work in Project Management in the future.
I enjoyed my placement because I got to fully experience all that the job as Translation Project Manger involves. I am glad to leave with an idea of the behind the scenes of the translation world and with a greater understanding of the human interaction and the relationships that develop with the job.
I enjoyed the internship and working within my team. It was a very supportive environment and I was able to get along really well with my co-workers. I enjoyed the tasks that I was responsible for, especially being fully in charge of a project of around 1 million words. I had a good experience.
It was helpful to learn more about the industry that interests me and to see another side of the translation world, though I do think that I would feel more capable and would enjoy it more if I were to have a more linguistically centered position rather than project management.
The area is a really cool place to work. Lots of interesting shops and nice little parks to spend lunch. The company usually has quite a number of interns so you won't feel out of place at all. The workers are just great in general and everyone is very friendly and understanding!
I really enjoyed my placement. It was fast paced and I was exposed to a range of tasks which gave me experience and enabled me to expand my knowledge of the company and of the industry, as well as being in contact with a variety of different people from various teams, both internally and externally.
I very much enjoyed my internship with Language Connect. From the commute, to the office environment (both the location and the people I work with), to the day-to-day responsibilities, the experience as a whole was fantastic. No significant complaints whatsoever.
I am very glad I was accepted for this placement, as I learnt so much during these 4 months. There was a really good atmosphere within the team and the company overall. I was given many responsibilities and had the opportunity to learn about the inside of the language industry. There was a lot of interaction with the interpreters and with the clients as well, which is what I am looking for during my future career.
I really enjoyed my internship with Language Connect. It gives you a valuable insight into the industry and everyday I was learning new skills and gaining valuable experience that I could use to my advantage, in the future, with applying and securing similar jobs roles in the language services industry.
Overall, this was a really worthwhile internship; you learn a lot of general skills by carrying out daily office tasks/administration, and you get some good experience of the translation industry as well. The work is a mixture of interesting tasks, and others which are somewhat repetitive.
I really enjoy my internship as it was challenging and rewarding; it was good to know that the fact that your role made a difference to the patients. It was also very interesting to learn about freelancing and what a day looks like for interpreters in the field. I really enjoy working in the Interpreting Team - everyone is really welcoming, friendly and helpful. They make you feel like part of the time from day one.
I have really enjoyed my internship at Language Connect. This has been my first contact with a company that works within the translation, interpreting and project management field. I have learned a lot about project management and I have enjoyed working and living in London too. I would repeat the experience.
