The Role
Really enjoyed the transition from university to working full time. Excellent support provided by manager, director, buddy, HR and other teams.
No hierarchy issues. All VP's and directors readily available for coffee chats. Regularly invited to "Thirsty Thusdays" and other social events by different teams.
Regular one to one's with manager/director with construcitve feedback and reccomendations to further improve my performance. Manager decided to implement a new project with me which is going to help the finance teams in UK assess income from different industries.
Fairly consistent throughout the year. Gets busy during planning period, but team makes up for it with days out and time off. Fantastic working hours. Regularly out of office around 5:30. Latest I've stayed in office is 7pm (once).
I was in charge of handling P&L for a Local market. Worksheets/decks used by VP's to make business decisions. Also in charge of reporting payments to Co-brand partners.
I feel my performance at university will show strong improvement due to the training I've been given in handling data through Excel/PowerPoint. I've also deleloped my people skills and find it easier to work with new people/teams.
The Company
Open plan office, so you sit with your team, all of whom are willing to help you at all times. Encouraged to ask questions regularly, "No questions are stupid questions" Regular birthday celebrations. Director bought us Peggie Porschen (vanilla is the best) cupcakes regularly. National day celebrations during world cup with authentic food/drinks (tequila shots on Mexico day!)
Quite possibly the best internship programme available in the country (I have friends who have worked in different industries is all parts of UK) Reasons: Competitive pay Training sessions in Excel/Powerpoint (you have to present to an audience of around 30 at the end of your internship- quite a task for people who haven't done it before) All interns/IP's invited to at least one social event a week. (London eye visit(drinks and dinner after), Cocktail making (the best!), Visit to Brighton office (with drinks overlooking the beach after), Charity day, Theatre day (Mamma Mia!), fancy dinner in the last week, networking with different teams(with drinks of course) Over 10 weeks, you get to meet all the teams and managers- this will give you a clear idea of what you want to do when you come back. Regular feedback sessions with HR (confidential- they know you personally, you're not 1 in 100) You are guaranteed an Amex Card when you apply as an employee - imagine going back to university and paying with your Gold Card on a night out!
External trainers brought in to provide training in Excel and PowerPoint. Oppotunity to pursue to a qualification (sponsored by the company) when you come back as a graduate.

Excellent prospects with opportunity to relocate within a few years. All employees are encouraged to try a different role every 18-24 months.
The Culture
Regularly met in the cafe for lunch. IP lunch once a month. Nights out quite often with grads,
Expensive but you would expect that being in London.
London's home to some of the best clubs in the world. Not cheap but worth the money you pay.
I was involved with an employee network and was given a project to work on as soon as I joined. Got to work with other networks/meet new people as a result.
