The Role
I really enjoyed my internship at Macmillan and will be very sad to leave. It has given me such great experience and I really feel like I have learnt a lot.
The general atmosphere and vibe at Macmillan is really welcoming so I did feel valued by all of my colleagues. In particular though, me team were lovely and helped to make me feel so comfortable.
My intern manager was fantastic and gave me loads of support all the way through my internship. Not only was she on hand with any questions I had with the work I was given, but she was also willing to help me with further career stuff away from Macmillan.
I was fairly busy on a daily basis, but not overwhelmingly so. It was always made sure that I had something to do.
I wasn't given loads of responsibility, but my role didn't call for it all that much. I was trusted to get on with the work that I was doing on my own but apart from that there wasn't that much.
I have gained some really good experience from my time at Macmillan and have really developed my skills which I know will help me progress in my career.
The Company
The office has a great atmosphere. Everyone is really friendly and fun and chatty and gets on really well.
The internship scheme is very well organised. I didn't experience any problems at all and the whole thing was seamless for me.
I didn't get any official training, but from my time here I have learnt and developed a lot of skills.
There are jobs available which interns have a strong chance at getting. However, for me there are no jobs available at this time.
The Culture
For the interns based in the head office there was a really good social scene. We would all regularly meet for lunch, and there were a few socials in the evening after work too. We all got along really well.
Fairly expensive, but it is central London!
From what I have heard, Vauxhall has good nightlife, however I never personally experienced it, bar a few drinks in the early evening!
There were a few opportunities to get involved in stuff outside of work. There are a few sports teams and volunteering opportunities are encouraged.
