The Role
Everyone at Macmillan is so welcoming and friendly and are keen to answer any questions. It is a great environment to work in. There were many opportunities to gain valuable experience and skills and the work was thoroughly enjoyable.
My colleagues made me feel part of the team and ensured I always had work to do. I contributed to the overall tasks and outcomes set out by the team.
My management were very supportive and helpful when discussing my work and future plans. I was always able to speak to my manager and get advice.
I was in a busy department which meant that on most days I had a lot of work to do. There were however some occassions where there could have been more work to do.
I was given enough responsibility to become more confident in my work. I was given my own project to work on which involved communicating with corporate companies.
The skills I have developed in this internship helped me to secure a job at Macmillan. They are valuable skills which I will take forward in this new job position.
The Company
It was a very friendly and welcoming enviroment.
The overall internship was well organised. There were regular workshops with the other interns to learn valuable skills.
We had workshops to improve our key skills, for example presentation skills and employability skills. My team were helpful in developing my skills in areas that I was unsure of.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing. I have just accepted a permanent position in another department.
The Culture
All the interns got on really well and we regularly went for lunch together. We also organised to see each other after work.
There was a mix of places to eat in the area where you could eat more cheaply or spend a bit more money. There were some nice pubs/bars around which werent too expensive.
The bars/pubs in the area are nice.
