  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have really enjoyed my time at Macmillan Cancer Support.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Right from the start of my internship I felt like a valued member of the team. Everyone is so friendly and were always willing to help me when I had questions.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager provided me with a lot of support right from the start. We had weekly catch up sessions where I was given the opportunity to discuss how I am getting on with my internship.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had a variety of projects during my internship which meant that I always had something to do. My manager checked in with me every week to see how I was progressing and whether I was happy with my workload.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was quite surprised how much responsibility I was given by my managers but this was great as I have learnt so much.

  • Macmillan has provided me with an invaluable experience and has allowed me to develop my Marketing skills.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was nice and relaxed. Everyone is so lovely (and there is always some cake going around too!).

  • The internship is well set up and there was an induction day with all of the interns at the start which was a nice way to meet everyone.

  • Whilst doing the internship, all interns have access to the internal vacancy list.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Some of the interns regularly met up for lunch and there were a few social events too.
